Has been great for me took a bit of fine tuning dosage but all good
While being treated my LLMD gave me a saliva test .
It was Genova Diagnostics i believe it was Adrenal Stress Plus Profile .
Then when came back started armor thyroid and some hydrocortosone and some supplements now and has helped me so much

I love it. I tested low T3, normal TSH. When I started taking it, I felt present again. Doc explained it's like being a bear hibernating during winter waking up, re our metabolism working better again!

I felt horrible on Armour and switched to Nature Throid. They are both dessicated thyroid meds but each has a different ratio of T3/T4.

Good, I am allergic to all the synthetic thyroid hormones and compounding is too expensive. I've had no allergic reactions to Armour.

I have been on dessicated thyroid for about 16 months now.
My doc followed with a TSH to track treatment.
Well I am now hyperthyroid from dessicated thyroid, so am adjusting the dose down a bit.
Just wanted to remind how strong it is and if you get symptoms of hyperthyroid while on armour or dessicated thyroid, maybe ask your doc for a test.
Maybe my insomnia is partly from the dessicated thyroid.

- I like NatureThroid a whole lot better. I also think they have a better supply of porcine thyroid, not just from the overcrowded pig complexes. At least, that used to be the case. -

My Lyme doc likes both Armour and Naturethroid - says he puts people on one or the other - like anything, our responses to them vary as to which one works for us.

There is another one called WP Thyroid also. It is made by RLC Labs, same as Nature-throid.
Nature-throid is more popular, but be advised it has lacotse monohydrate, so you might want to skip it if you can't do dairy.
Armour has no dairy or gluten.
Synthroid has gluten.

Thanks DTS. I have a relative with celiacs and she is on synthroid.

Are they testing Free T3, Free T4, and Reverse T3 too?
Lyme patients can make too much Reverse T3.

It can take a while to get the dose at the right level. Some trial and error, in other words.

Tried different doses over the course of several weeks and could not get the right one. Felt jittery and caused more insomnia. Went off and felt much better immediately. No problems on Synthrod, didn't feel that it did much though. Will try Nature-throid, sounds promising.

Tons of great info at stopthethyroidmadness.com Very helpful and surprising stuff. Heartbreaking too because most doc's treat thyroid illness the way they do tick borne illness- faulty testing, wrong diagnoses and crappy treatment.
