Did it help....does it have things in it we can't take ,like steroids..

Are you asking about the synvisc? I believe it does not help with people who have bone on bone knee conditions. But some may find it helpful. Here is a link to some of your questions: http://www.synviscone.com/what-is-synvisc-one.aspx
It is not a steroid.

It depends on what you are diagnosed with. But, yes - Synvisc, Euflexxa, etc can definitely help. As KGG mentions, it won't do much good if you are already bone on bone and its time for a knee replacement, but I know it makes a difference for a lot of people.
Sometimes the ortho will also want to inject a steroid along with the synvisc so you might want to ask about that. But, in my experience, you can get one without the other.
