Thanks to Betty G for posting this on MDJunction.

Many of you have seen the 300,000 number regarding annual lyme cases. But somehow I missed the survey that was partially the reason for updating that number from the previous number of 30,000.


Here is a very well thought out blog post that interprets the data.

I am wondering how many people were included in these three studies. N=?

The link to the actual studies under the results section answers that question.

2009 -- 73 % responded (4728/6504)

2011 -- 69 % responded (4050/5868)

2012 -- 80 % responded (3503/4371)

So a total of 12,281 responded.

The thing that really amazed me was that none of the people surveyed reported receiving IV antibiotics or other alternative treatments.
