Hi all, when I press on my scalp with my knuckles even gently there are terribly sore areas that hurt! It's mostly on the top. I don't mean burning/tingling, I have that too. This feels like bruising. Anyone else have this and what causes this? thx!

Yes, I have this too. I don't know what causes this...perhaps lack of blood flow to that area of the head.

I have this too - sore area moves, sometimes the top of my head, sometimes my forehead.
I never recognized this as a Lyme symptom, does it happen to many people?

I've had that bruised feeling. Not sure if it was Lyme or what. It would come and go. Maybe the full moon brought it on.

For me it turned out to be parasites under the scalp and when I started the antiparasitic herbs and salt/c, bumps appeared and scabbed. I encourage everyone to consider treating for parasites.

yes and yes. also scratching will bring up small scabs or something. even brushing my hair hurts sometimes.

It's likely from inflammation, especially in the brain. IV abx helped me a lot with that symptom or a high dose of abx that passed the BBB along with a cyst buster.

This was the first symptom I described to my LLMD and his explanation was - I am interpreting it, because it was 5 years ago, he used medical term for it, which I do not recall- inflammation of the tissue between skin and skull.
Have had this symptoms long before I was diagnosed with Lyme and CO. It would come with headaches.
During my Lyme treatment, this symptom got very prominent and over years I figured out that in my case it would come and go with Babesia flare ups.
For past few weeks I am experiencing these symptoms again plus heart palpitations so I restarted cryptolepis and artemisinin

Do a google search for nerves + scalp. Lyme is a neurological disease.
When I am having this scalp pain, it seems to hurt to move my hair! Very odd.
The other thing that can cause scalp issues is yeast, but that is different, more like itching, scaliness.

Abx, my LLMD doctor did not say encephalitis which I was diagnosed by my neurologist- inflammation of the brain itself.
According to him it is inflammation of the layer of tissue that is between the skin and she skull bone - connects the skin and the skull bone.

The only other term that rings a bell is meningitis. Either way, your doctor is correct no matter what the proper name for what you are feeling is. That's why it's so important to be able to get high enough concentrations of abx up to the brain and past the blood brain barrier.
