Anyone deal with this? Everytime you wake up in middle of the night or in the morning your heart is pounding?

Sometimes it's accompanied by a nightmare.

I suspect it's toxicity/Bartonella. Wish I had some tricks to resolve this.

I've had this as part of POTS. Some days I have it some I don't. I take a low dose beta blocker. I've found that drinking more water can help sometimes.

Yes I have this in the morning. It comes with being very overheated.

Before I took a low dose beta blocker, but my bp is already low, and it drove my bp really dangerously low, so I had to stop.

Drinking more water helps me too.

I find if I drink a huge glass in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning, then it is not so bad.

Just peeing every half hour haha.

Have heard this ascribed to cortisol levels screwed up.

Hello.. yes! This happens to me without the nightmares. The moment I open my eyes my heart start to race. Was much worse w/ babesia tx. Agree, it's the messed up ANS.. I'm supposed to be doing a salivary cortisol test, let's see what it shows. Sorry, it can be frightening.

I had this and found out it was from trazodone.

Ditto, messed up ANS and a relation to cortisol levels.

I have a saliva hormone test coming up also... Will be interesting to compare similarities [Smile]

YES - it started happening to me when our well water became contaminated with parasites. Clearly it was parasites for me.

Heartworm is not the only parasite that loves the heart. (We get the same heartworm that dogs get except we don't treat it!).

I was having this. Pretty sure it was from some form of sleep apnea (caused by the Lyme I'm sure) because I would wake up needing a breath and my heart would be racing/pounding. The heart tries to compensate for less oxygen intake by speeding up.

It was downright scary sometimes.

Ginger seems to help me.
Agree it's an ANS issue. I think Bart for me 9when I have Bart under control I don't get this).

Just wish there was something I could do to relieve the racing some. I've started taking binders before bed )charcoal) to maybe mop up toxins.

This also happens if I take anti-candida herbs too close to bed. I get nausea from the die off and then I think the toxicity circulates and causes ANS issues and the heart pumping blood to get toxins moving?
