I recently did a 6 hr provoked heavy metal test and it showed high levels of mercury and lead - of course when I did a web search on the topic I found and article claiming the lab I used to be fraudulent ! I'm not concerned about the money wasted on test ... I am hopeful that heavy metals may be part of my problems and once corrected I will finally feel better! But of course if test is misleading then once again I am lost !

I did the provoked test with DMSA through Dr's Data. Mine showed unusually low levels of everything. So not everyone tests high if that is your concern (it was a concern of mine too).

Mine was a 6 hour thru doctors data also.
My doc was surprised, (pleasantly), as only 3 metals were above range "high".
(we were expecting worse given past chemical exposure and neuro issues).
The graph my LL showed me was for the 24 hour non provoked, I guess it extrapolates it? So heavy metals are not a concern for me as the ranges are for 24 hours non provoked.
Neff mentioned something about this also. I think Neff's doc opted to do chelation anyways (?). (Correct me if I am remembering wrong, Neff!)
Basically, were your results being compared to 24 hour non provoked ranges?
If so, they can't really be compared. Like apples and oranges.

What company did you use to test?
There are few people walking the earth that don't have elevated levels of heavy metals in there body. There is probably a very good chance that the test is accurate. Sites such as quack watch and other mainstream organizations take delight in bashing chelation and the accumulation of heavy metals in the body.
Chelating out heavy metals is a necessary part of Lyme recovery.

IMO, Doctors data IS accurate. The best lyme docs use it, so I am not concerned about any report that says otherwise. Look at how inaccurate the idsa is about lyme. I don't believe half the crap we're fed. IMO, heavy metals keep us down and must be addressed.
Also for others who see this, some people cannot excrete heavy metals very well (genetic reasons), so their tests turn out low, so there could still be a problem. There is info here if you do a search.
For anyone killing parasites, these bugs are often protected by biofilms, and we all know how tough it is to get anything through, much less out of them. The bugs release heavy metals when they die, so it is still a possible to have heavy metals even though the test indicates otherwise.
Gigi's posts have all the info on heavy metals and are worth the search.

Thank you all for the helpful insight ! Yes test was done by doctors data lab - I know by now I should not question what I know is wrong with me , but I can't help but to question when it has been takining me almost a decade to start on the hopefully road to recovery
