In thinking about these parasites... would a jellyfish (or stingray, or some other stinging sea creature) carry any of this?
About 4 years ago, give or take, I got stung while swimming on Hilton Head Island. It was a very warm July day and I guess that is prime season for jellyfish. Or whatever it was.
The sting caused cellulitis on my leg and I took about two weeks of antibiotics. I was fine after that although I did have a scar for a few years.
Would they carry any of my long list of parasites (on my other thread, which I can repost here but wanted to keep this shorter).

There is always a concern when eating sushi or raw fish because they may have parasites. I would think the same would hold true for any sea creature. Humans and animals carry parasites, so it would make sense that these guys could be carrying them as well.

Maybe you got candida from the antibiotics at that time. At the very least, a gut imbalance.

True it may be a sting, but it involves the skin and contact with the tenacle and could have irritated the skin and possibly created an opportunity for parasites to enter.
We have heard of people getting Lyme just from contact. Who knows, but I prefer erring on the side of caution. Gut imbalance can be from candida and a parasite infection. Treating both would be a good idea.

I don't, and never have, loathe sushi, have always ate meat well done, and am one clean and fastidious gal, and I have parasites.

glm... I thought you meant that you could get it from the jellyfish itself. I don't think that would be possible. But yes, parasites could get in a sting or cut, I suppose?
surprise, I bet 90% of the population has parasites.
