I was hoping someone here could give me some guidance on my situation. I relapsed last Sept, after 10 years of being totally symptom free. Back in 2003 I got lyme and babs from my husband who was bit by a tick, we were both treated immediately and extensively and recovered.
My first symptom this past September was a sore throat and then the headaches. These are my only symptoms. I went through a very stressful time with my son who just happened to have been bitten by a tick and had to go through treatment.
So I started my treatment in early Nov, and have been on abx since. My headaches went away pretty soon, but the one symptom I have is the sore throat. It comes and goes, never really hurts when I have it just a faint feeling in the throat. My glands some times feels not swollen like you could feel it with your hand but I can tell it not quite right.
My HHV6 IGG was a little high at 4.4, doc says it should be down to 2.
I was recently tested at Igenex for babesia and bartonella as I was thinking I could have been exposed when my son was, but everything came back neg. I really do not have any of those symptoms anyways just the throat issue.
My throat has the crimson crescents. Which is an indication of CFS. I am not tired, so not sure if this is the issue either.
I have been on courses of Amox, doxy, mino, while being on zith and pulsing tinidazole.
Not sure what else I can do. If this is a virus do I just have to wait it out? and try to stay healthy and hope it goes away. I do not have any congestion or allergies, never have had allergies and am pretty sure we do not have mold issues.

Have you been tested for strep?
The crescents in your throat can also be an indication of mycoplasma pneumonia.

I've been on so many abx I don't think it could be strep. My Myco levels are low now.

It could be viruses (like HHV6 and others). I have a sore throat and several viruses.

I was thinking of strep as well. Many of the children that I know, who have also been bitten by ticks, have constant soar throats on & off.
My daughter, who was also bit multiple times, had ended up getting Scarlet Fever (from Strep).
Are you saying that you got Lyme & Babesia from your husband or did you ever get a tick bite or see a bulls eye rash?
How do you know you got it this way?

I get confused when people say "relapse".
Maybe you just got re-bitten?
I would agree with the strep theory and try to find a dr that will really get rid of it for you.
after I did my strep treatment with herbals I felt so much better overall.
my llmd found the strep that none of the 40 + drs I saw over the last 10 years had seen.

I have never been bitten by a tick, we do not live in an endemic area and am rarely in the great outdoors.
When my husband was bit back in 2003, I was 5 months pregnant. We abstained after he was bit as a precaution after learning on this site it could be sexually transmitted. He did 6 months treatment and 2 to three months after the baby was born and we thought he was in the lyme clear we picked up were we left off. It only took 2 months for me to start having symptoms and then I went in to his LLMD and got tested through IGenex, which came back positive.
I was just retested again for babesia and bartonella thinking that maybe I was re-exposed while traveling but everything came back neg. so I am sure it is just my lyme that is reactivated. And maybe the viruses as well is what I can tell.
Anyone have any advice on what to go for viruses? I am not so sure the valcyte has help too many people from what I can tell. Wouldn't all the abx that I've been on clear strep by now if that was it?

anyway, I use Monastery of Herbs for all my stuff
for strep it is Product 153.
PLUS I take Chlorella pills and Cilantro tincture.

I wanted to post the scan of the stuff that is in the tincures but I don't know how to do that. It is a long list of herbs and roots.

You can also get your blood strep titers checked for better accuracy:
STREP TITER TESTS: An ASO-titer and D-nase B titer. Ask the doctor/laboratory to give you a numeric result – not just positive or negative. Anything above the labs normal range should be quantified with a specific numerical value.

Cryptolepsis is also effective against strep.
I have crimson crescents, also EBV CMV HHV6 AND myco.
Crimson crescents don't usually make a throat sore.
Is there a possibility that your sore throat could be related to candida? It can make throat and mouth tissue sore.
Or, could it possibly be an abscessed tonsil? Is it just one side or your entire throat?
Just trying to think of some possibilities.

It's not candida, I've never had a yeast issue. Also my tonsils are fine, it's both sides of my mouth before the tonsil area. I am thinking it is a virus. I've started taking the Byron a White EB/Hhv tincture, olive leaf extract and coconut tabs. I will also try Lisa's suggested products.

I haven't gotten this pain in a while, and I have treated for strep, so it may also have been strep for me. My strep was found through a meridian test.
symptoms of CMV: Enlarged lymph nodes, especially in the neck Fever Fatigue Loss of appetite Malaise Muscle aches Rash Sore throat
Less common symptoms include:
Chest pain Cough Headache Hives Irregular heart beat Jaundice Neck stiffness Rapid heart rate Sensitivity to light Shortness of breath Swollen spleen and liver

I have never been tested for it. From what I've read there really is no treatment for it. People get this and if their immune system is healthy they clear it and will forever carry antibodies for it.
I am going to keep treating for lyme and at the same time take supplements for viruses. Hopefully it will resolve on its own. Not sure there is too much more I can do.
