I started Coartem and Ivermectin and was on them for 7 days and the Dr. told me to stop after that, well I woke up Monday I feel shaky, keep crying, my toes keep cramping up.

I have severe yeast, and haven't taken Diflucan since 3 days before starting the Coartem and Ivermectin

can somebody tell me if I can start the Diflucan my last dose of the other 2 other meds meds were Sunday.

Hang in there Scampi. Someone with some info should come along shortly. I haven't taken Coartem or Ivermectin so I'm not able to help you.

I'm so sorry you are suffering so!!

Sounds like you had a pretty strong reaction to those meds. My llmd never had me on any other med while on coartem. Maybe too much for your body.

Give yourself time to detox a bit. Are you detoxing well?

You really need to ask your llmd about when to start back on diflucan but for me it was no meds 3 days before and no meds 3 days after coartem.

I herxed very hard on ivermectin and could not imagine taking it with coartem. Give yourself some time off the meds and see how you feel.

You need to detox.

I could tolerate ivermectin very well, but not coartem.

I was on clynda, coartem, herbs, heparin, etc. for a couple of days and it felt like I got run over by a bus. The doctor had me off all meds and supplements for 4-5 days.

Juicing greens helped me feel better.

Call your pharmacist before taking the Diflucan to be sure it is safe. It is probably best to take a break from everything until things settle down.

I hope you feel better soon.

I did call the pharmacist they said Coartem has a
life cycle of 3-6 days, I woke up so shaky again this morning put me into a severe panic I don't know.

Anyone out there have the symptoms of the inside of your body feeling like a popcorn machine shaking.

Please Please someone answer!!!

I haven't taken either of those medications, but I have felt internal shaking or vibrations since I developed Lyme. I have started antibiotics this week for the first time, for Lyme, and the internal shaking is worse. I have other neuro symptoms that I almost can't even describe. I often wake shaking and flooded with this intense noxious sensation. This is a miserable disease, but you are not alone in your suffering! Hang in there!

Thanks Mamalicious I have been going through lyme and co infections for 6 years and have never felt like this, I am sorry that you have to live like this It just isn't fair, Idk what to do, I am afraid and just don't have anyone, I know other people have it worst, or have had tragic things happen so I try not to feel sorry for myself but this time I am just scared, I hope things get better for you [Smile]

That is a scary feeling. I have that reaction and have learned it is, for me, usually a sign of toxin overload and the fact they are clearing. Once they clear things are MUCH better.

Hope you get some relief soon.

Tincup I am sorry you have to endure this but what is the fastest easiest way to get rid of it, how about Lemon water what do you think!!!

I would do every possible method of detoxing.

So, drink lots and lots of water with lemon in it, Alka Seltzer Gold or bicarbonate of soda, glutathione if you have any, just water if you have no lemon, etc.

Yes, detox. Lemon water.

Juicing detox.

When I first got sick I shook so hard and so much. Beta blocker like Atenolol might help.

And something to sleep.

Hi Mrs Scampi.

Yes! Popcorn me too!

When I get the popcorn feeling it is always improved by detaox!

I use NT detox drops, and Eno, and epsom salt baths. Sometimes taking a benedryl at night too helps me.

YES!!!!! I just stumbled on something while researching something else. It could help explain what I was talking about in more "proper" medical terms. ???

Rigor. It is a word used to describe symptoms that occur with herxes in the medical literature, and comes right behind fever and chills.

It basically means shivering. Read this explanation and why/how "rigor" happens.

"Muscle groups around the vital organs begin to shake in small movements, creating warmth by expending energy."

This reaction is controlled by the brain, which we sort of have problems with when having Lyme. Agreed?

And, because of Lyme we typically have lower than normal body temps most of the time for whatever reason.

Now read this...

"Located in the posterior hypothalamus near the wall of the third ventricle is an area called the primary motor center for shivering. ...

Therefore, this center becomes activated when the body temperature falls even a fraction of a degree below a critical temperature level."

OK, Tincup, how do we fix it?

Let me first say I know absolutely nothing about the specific meds you were on or any reactions they may cause. And... I am totally guessing here.

Might warming up your body help (not to extremes- be sensible)?

And/or....

Could toxins and/or inflammation in the brain increase the rigor by lowering the temps during chills or whatever?

For you Ms. Scampi, yes, lemon juice will help remove lactic acid, so you might want to try it. (I use it and it seems to help.)

I also drink hot decaf green tea which I believe helps a good amount. I'll often get sweats when drinking it, which also releases toxins.

I put hot water in a small tub and soak my feet in it (can't get in & out of a tub safely). In the foot tub I put Epsom Salt- a good amount- a few packs of Alka Seltzer GOLD, and something that smells nice (just for the fun & relaxation).

Then 30 minutes soaking feet- which, with my impatience, it is usually 20 minutes.

But, I THINK, maybe because of the MTHFR (?), the magnesium (Epsom Salts) works VERY poorly with me and calcium helps for muscle cramps and pain. (Still trying to assess that situation.)

So if you see an increase in symptoms taking magnesium or using Epsom Salts, maybe stop it and try a calcium supplement for the muscle cramps????

I've also heated up a room or gone out in the hot sun to try to force sweats. Sweating seems to help a good amount. Shower afterward so the toxins released don't sit on your skin and get reabsorbed.

The good news is, after decades of dealing with the symptoms you are describing (on/off), I always recover.

I really don't think I will recover at the time- feels like I am dying and this is the end, to where I'd bet money on it- but somehow I do get better.

I can't advise you to stop any meds, but stopping meds immediately is what I personally would do and recommend (force) my family to do in this situation.

The theory being you can't keep filling a stopped up sink with more dirty water- killing off yeast and bacteria that release endotoxins- because eventually the sink will overflow, spilling the dirty water all over the floor, making an even worse mess.

I reach out my hand and my heart to you. I hope the nasty reaction ends soon and that you will be in touch with your doc and get professional advice.

BTW- Alka Seltzer Gold- drinking it in water- is often recommended by LLMD's as a detox for herxing. I don't drink it because as a kid I saw another kid try to swallow one of the tablets whole and the results were frightening.

I use chlorella from Source Naturals for detox, a food, very safe reputation. Take with food (it is a food) according to dosage on bottle. It is my main detox and I have not needed anything else as I take it daily.

Internal shakiness is one of my symptoms when Bb acts up. It is more an internal feeling, along with heart beating faster, and is scary. You feel like your body cannot control its internal systems.

I suggest avoiding any sugar products, as sugar and sugary foods always bring shakiness on, for me.

Stevia NOW brand is 100% stevia and just takes a tiny bit to sweeten coffee or anything. It is a food and supposed to be very safe. Just believe the instructions and only put a smidge in.

My symptoms are much better than most, and except for some yeast and mycoplasm, I think I may just have Bb. So I don't know how to deal with the coinfections or medicines for them.

If you have severe yeast, sugar is really bad for you.

Good diet will help the yeast. It has helped mine.

My prayers are with you.
