I am about 10 months into LLMD treatment and finally mustered up the courage to give myself my first Bicillin shot. I had been dreading it for about two weeks but my oral medication finally ran out.
Honestly it wasn't that bad but did get worked up administering it. I let the shot sit at room temp for about an hour and then about 10 minutes holding it in my hand to warm it up.
Iced the injection site for about 2 minutes before doing the injection. Only hurt a litle pushing the needle in partly because it was making my muscle twitch. I was doing it standing up in front of the mirror. Not much discomfort during injection. Took it very slow...maybe 2 to 3 minutes to inject.
The muscle is a little tender now about an hour later but laying down on a heating pad helps the discomfort blend in. Will see how the soreness is the next few days.
I may have injected it a little too close to the center of the "quadrants". Going to go a little higher and out next time and alternate cheeks.
Just feeling like reaching out and sharing.

Our LLMD's office taught my husband how to give them, and made sure I took the first one at their office,
so I could be observed afterward in case of reaction. (and I have no allergies) I faint at the sight of blood and needles, no way no how could I have done my own shots.
I did them for 6-7 months, with an oral cyst buster Tindamax taken on/ off every 2 weeks throughout.
I always found about 1-2 hours after the shot, I'd be overcome with fatigue and need a short nap. Other than that, no negativity, and very glad I had the opportunity to do them----

I will admit the nerves were high and I did start to get slightly light headed in the middle of it. Haha. Even the pharmacist told me it was going to hurt bad. Had me all worked up.
Overall I am doing quite well. The biggest problem I had was aching knees. I started Flagyl a few months back as my cyst buster and after the first two cycles my knees have very significantly improved after months of minor improvements.
I kept brushing off some other things that now seem to be neuroligical related with the pudendal nerve on the right side of my body. It is usually very minor but had me worried about a whole slew of problems until I finally read up on the pudendal nerve and all that I was experiencing finally seemed to be described very well.
I can't wait to see what the Bicillin does. Every time I had an antibiotic change I got noticeable herxes with noticeable improvement after.

One other tip I would suggest:massage the site after injecting
should help distribute the biccilin as well as relieving internal pressure and soreness. Biccilin was a good step forward for me,hope for you as well.
The blessing:you probably wont ever think shots are that scary now!
