A family member is about to have surgery, and I can't remember what or which anesthesia should or should not be used. I vaguely remember reading something about it re autistic children. Does anyone remember this, or have any suggestions?

It is believed that if a MTHFR gene or genes are present
(C677T or A1298C)

then perhaps Nitrous Oxide should not be used.

Catgirl:

This may be the article you were wanting. At any rate it is very in-depth and useful whether you have autism or not as it lists some ways to help your body detox from anesthetics.

You can also use homeopathics to help the body deal with anesthetics. They do not interfere with the drugs.

Medical facility even supports use of homeopathics as "entirely safe".
