I am starting today with 1.2 ml. I have no butt at all! Thinking I shouldn't push the needle all the way in. Is that a bad idea? I'm literally thinking I could hit bone. If anyone has advice please share thx!

Are you giving the shot to yourself? Were you trained/ shown how to do it correctly?
I am also a very small person, when I did Bicillin injections my husband administered them to me after being shown how to do it from a registered nurse.
