I am having problems with dizziness and vertigo. It could be a lyme, bartonella, or pituitary problem. If it is lyme/bart, what is the issue, if you've experienced it? I am told to look into BPPV, but wondering what bart or lyme does to the ear crystals.

BPPV is just one cause of vertigo. You can read more about it here to determine if further evaluation might be of help - or the Epley maneuver (that this is not good to do if it is not BPPV but if it is, it can be the winning ticket).

Many questions answered below, still, your LL doctor would the best one to determine for your body & your variables what the causes / influence may be.

Check all your meds, too, as many can cause vertigo.

This summer in Oregon has been particularly hot and humid, and that can make all vestibular issues harder. The smoke from the forest fires, too. Tomorrow should be cooler in a good part of the state, finally.

BLOOD GLUCOSE STABILITY ? Enough said there to work with. Be sure you get enough good food at all the right times for your body. Be sure your glucose levels are where they should be.

HEART, Blood Pressure fluctuations (& the various nervous systems)

The vestibular system is just one aspect of vertigo. There can be other reasons, causes, influences as well. Some (such as liver stress, toxicity) are explain in the ear thread as that also affects ear, indirectly.

But, for NMH or POTS, blood pressure drops, autonomic nervous system blips, etc. some detail here - but this information set is not as encompassing so you'd want to explore beyond this, too:

And then there is the brain. There's always the brain. And this is where it's really important to check in with your LL doctor if the other possibilities don't quick fit.

Basically, though, yes. Yes, lyme and any other TBD can be a major set-up for vertigo for many reasons. And there is usually never just one. It's often a combination of things.

GINGER CAPSULES, but at a therapeutic dose, keeping it steady, is the first thing to call upon for some help. And it can help in various ways.

Eclectic Institute (based in Oregon) is a top quality. Oregon Wild Harvest, too.

But, oh, Ginger is a "hot" herb. So be sure you balance that with "cooling foods" until there is a break in the weather (or if you have air conditioning -- though most do not in Oregon, so just don't get too hot and then take a stimulating herb all by itself.

Coptis, Berberine containing herbs will balance that as they are "cool" and more ying than yang.

I've found trace minerals and electrolyte balance to be very important for keeping my vertigo to a minimum.

Acupuncture helped me through it more than the meds or physical therapy. Surprisingly though, parasite treatment actually got rid of it for good.

Hi there

I have suffered from vertigo since 2002. None of my doctors ever addressed it..I was told to take an antihistamine to help..and it works. I take zyrtec, the only one that actually keeps my vertigo away. If i don't take it for two days, its back.

Found out it is most likely part of my babesia duncani infection, or possibly also lyme. But from what I know, babesia can cause vertigo.
