What is a good alternative to Readisorb Liposomal Glutathione? Is there a good capsule form of glutathione to use?

Cost is a definite factor here. I'm looking for something that works, but at a more affordable price...most of us are looking for that!

Thanks for any help you may give.

I use whey protein in a smoothie. It's the cheapest I've found (since it also acts as a meal replacement). I like Reserveage, but there are several brands out there.

I definitely feel it when I skip it. More info:

Researched Nutritionals has a pair of oral liposomal glutathione products under the "Tri-Fortify" label.

Since Researched Nutritionals is only sold through health care providers and other authorized practices, the cost can vary greatly depending on who exactly is selling it. I'd inquire with any practitioners or other vendors with which you already have a relationship.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I used to use whey protein, but since going dairy-free I stopped. I did like it. I'm not sure if I can use it, though.

I think the Tri-Fortify is also an expensive item, although it may be a very good one.

I'll PM about the more affordable one. Thanks.

Have you tried the transdermal cream? Easy, not too costly and it works.

I haven't tried it. I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion. [Smile]

I'm going to try liposomal glutathione again.

What brand are people using?

Posted by GretaM (Member # 40917) on :

Readisorb Liposomal Glutathione.

It is around $50 for a month for me. Not cheap. And smells sulfury, but doesn't taste bad.

Thanks Greta!

There isn't one. The fundamental flaw here is that you can supplement with glutathione to any meaningful end , it doesn't work that way.

Yes you need glutathione but you need to restore cell mitochondria so that is is produced intracellularly .

here is how;

Cool, I'm doing a mitachondrial restoration right now. The glutathione is part of the protocol.

coffee/powdered glutathione enema? i don't see how glutathione can be supplemented orally to help raise levels in the blood stream. i could be wrong.

One of the reasons I'm taking liposomal is because apparently it works better.

http://glutathione.wellwise.org/how-do-liposomes-work

What I'm concerned about now is another useless treatment. Just what I don't need.

Moringa Leaf is a new one though. Thanks.

I take all the other common precursers for glutathione already except the ones I'm allergic to.

Oral forms of glutathione have certainly changed over recent years. Now, for example, we have the acetyl-S-glutathione capsules (eg by Allergy Research) which are supposed to be able to enter the cells much more easily. They are also pretty expensive though.

I am trying Livon Laboratories lypospheric glutathione at present, along with their lypospheric C, but it is too early to comment yet.

We use this one that is based on primitive high enzyme

sprouts. Gives the body the tools to make its own glutathione.

http://faheypharms.com/BeautyMedGPBrochure.jpg

From what I understand it is gluten free because it is made

from young sprouts before they turn green.

Amazing stuff. Kicks in in about 20 minutes.

Remember to avoid acetaminophen as it blocks not just the liver cells but ALL cells in the body from "accepting" glutathione so the cells can't "circulate" and get rid of any toxins.

In addition to it being extra hard on the liver, that also makes it extra hard for the lungs.

Can a one dose of acetatemetafin cause liver enzymes to jump? Theresa

One dose of acetaminophen can block the liver cells and other body cells to shut down and block glutathione from entering and block the cells from "circulating out" (so to speak) as they should.

I don't know how liver enzymes would react to one dose. Liver enzymes often flucuate.

Studies Suggest an Acetaminophen-Asthma Link

- By Christie Aschwanden - The New York Times

Excerpt:

. . . Even a single dose of acetaminophen can reduce the body’s levels of glutathione, a peptide that helps repair oxidative damage that can drive inflammation in the airways, researchers have found. . . .

Key: "But Acetaminophen not only depletes Glutathione, but it blocks the production of Glutathione"

[so our liver can't even make it when that action is blocked -- it is unclear just how much something of support we give the liver so that it can make more glutathione can work if that very action is blocked. Although NAC has clearly been a good help for acetaminophen overdose.]

Painkillers

Excerpts:

. . . Non-Narcotic Painkillers:

- Acetaminophen (in more than 600 over-the-counter and prescription medications, including Tylenol, Excedrin, Paracetemol, Vicodin, Percocet, etc.) . . .

. . . The liver breaks down most of the drug into safe components that can be removed from the body in urine.

However, a small amount of Acetaminophen metabolizes into a harmful by-product called N-acetyl-p-benzoquinoneimine (NAPQI).

When this toxic chemical is produced greater than the body can remove it, the main cells of the liver are destroyed.

This largely occurs because of the depletion of Glutathione. Glutathione, the master antioxidant of the body is required for the safe detoxification of Acetaminophen (paracetamol) and other harmful toxins.

Glutathione converts fat-soluble toxins into water-soluble forms for safe and efficient elimination by the body.

But Acetaminophen not only depletes Glutathione, but it blocks the production of Glutathione,

allowing the NAPQI to build up and react with cellular proteins, killing the cells in the process. Chronic use of Acetaminophen is known to cause liver damage. . . .

What do you mean "kicks in?"

How does it specifically makes you feel different?

Thanks!

Core Labs is a great brand

I take core glutathione-- its liposomal. Note that any pill you take (even liposomal) needs to be on an empty stomach to be absorbed (per my Dr)
