I'm taking Nutricology microchitosan. I was taking it to mop up toxins. I'm about 80% recovered and NOTHING - I MEAN NOTHING - gives me much reaction anymore. Not abx, chelators, nothing. So I figured I'm mostly out of the woods, right?

Well, this chitosan is kicking my butt. It feels like a MASSIVE herx reaction. Some people have talked about it draining vitamins, but that can't be it. It's come on in just 3 hours and it feels exactly like the horror herx reactions I used to have years ago.

So I'm sure it's stirring up deeply embedded Lyme toxins... which means these toxins have been hanging out for -- years???

So........... my question is, with this or cholestyramine, has anyone "seen the end" and kept on the stuff through the herxing and come out the other side, improved?

Or am I heading down a rabbit hole of stirring up toxins?

Since I don't really respond any more to ANY treatments, I'd like to keep going on this stuff since it's the only thing that has given me a reaction like this in *a long time."

And while I am +/- 80% well, I still have a ways to go, so I'm not just willing to sit around and not try new things.

Ultimately I'm willing to endure this herx even for weeks if there is really a "Light at the end of the tunnel."

Can people share their Chitosan / Cholestyramine herxing stories and tell me if it was "worth it."???

Thanks!

Your dedication is admired & understood. I went down that rabbit hole and hope you will not.

That dedication can be refocused. Please just don't do this if you are having this kind of serious reaction early in.

I think there are safer ways. If you feel that awful, it's not worth it. Damage or at least too much stress on your body. And that's not good in any way, at all. Ever.

It's not killing any infection (so, technically, it's not a herx so technically, as a support to help decrease heavy metals, it if's making you feel terrible, it's best to stop).

Even it anti-spirochetal stuff creates a herx so terrible, it's best to try to avoid that. Some LL doctors will do everything possible to avoid a herx, they think it so damaging to the body. I agree.

It will keep your body in a nutrient deficient state the entire time, too. Not good. And, yes, it certainly CAN be that. Sorry. It can cause terrible nutrient issues on many levels.

Cholestyramine was a huge mistake for me. I tried over and over and just woke up that it was hurting me terribly. There are many other safer ways that are effective. Many. And easier on any body.

A good LL ND (naturopathic doctor) would know those. I once figured out many options but can't look now for my notes on that - tomorrow).

For now, STINGING NETTLE LEAF (not root) & MAGNESIUM . . . and a good OIL might help a great deal. Let the oil soak into your mouth as long as you can.

You don't have any sensitivity to shellfish, do you? Be mindful that if you do, or if one might develop, this could be not a good product to take. I think both are from shellfish shells.

I also don't think it's good to take the same thing day in and day out. With foods (and your body will see this as food, not medicine), it's best not to consume the same foods two days in a row. Too many allergies can develop that way.

Update: the herx has greatly died down now. And I think I might be feeling a little better - more clear headed.

Will keep everyone posted. Keebler, thanks for your thoughts. I agree on not taking it day in and day out. I'm thinking 1-2 weeks use, max.

You might also cut the dose way down. Make it tolerable for your body, I really think that is important. Good luck.

Update. I've been on the stuff now for a week or so. It's made one of the biggest positive improvements in my health of anything in years. I guess I had a lot of neurotoxins socked away in my brain. I am almost in disbelief at the improvement, like its a dream and I'm sure I'll wake up soon. Not sure if it will "last," but hoping...

dan67, this is like DE? Chops up? Do you think it broke up biofilms?

Posted by dan67 (Member # 20344) on :

Not sure what "DE" is. It's a fat absorber like Cholestyramine / Schumaker protocol, but I think it's even better because the micro chitosan actually gets absorbed and mops up fat all over body.

I think it probably DOES mop up some good stuff too - like fat soluble vitamins - so I don't use it constantly. But it has made me feel like a new person.

We'll see if the imporvement holds. You know how it goes.

I can't spell it, dimestrious earth, (DE), used in pets, or something, but don't inhale/ toxic- you can tell we've never used it.

Looked up microchitsan couldn't tell what it is suppose to do, thought it might be 'chopping up' like DE does/ parasites or biofilm.

we did cholystramine powder, no big deal here--

I don't think it chops anything up, I think it absorbs fats of all types, it doesn't discriminate, and just so happens to absorb bile, etc. But maybe it isn't a breakthrough for everyone :-)

Dan,

Glad to hear the Chitosan is now working better for you. It's always nice to turn a corner and have a better road under your feet.

I also took chitosan. Much stronger in effect than DE, that is very mild.

It mops up toxins. I use though chlorella better, for me it works better, milder, even though I get the toxin-stir-up reaction about 30 min to 60 min after ingesting chlorella. Sometimes, even earlier.

It's a frightening feeling when it starts, but after a couple of hours, you notice improvement.

Good luck. Keep on detoxing!!! and improving!

I keep saying here for years, people who only concentrate on killing do not get better easily. I used most of my energy, money and supplements for detoxing and building. Only about 10 % of what I took was for killing (or immune support).

The secret is mopping up!

Sounds good .. but scary too!

DE = Diatomaceous Earth

It was scary. But I don't care. I'm willing to do anything scary if it gets me better. a day of scary is worth the improvement :-)
