I have always thought Quest and Labcorp were not sensitive enough for tickborne infections.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I agree with that.
I'm sure in some situations it picks up Lyme, but from what I've learned from others (and experienced personally), they are unfortunately not sensitive enough at all!

Once in awhile, someone will show positive on one of those. But if it comes back negative, you can NOT bank on it.

IMO, band 41 shows up often, only to be dismissed.
Wish I knew then what I know now...

Thank you for your responses.
I just dont understand why LLMDs are even sending patients there. I had a new tick bite recently and my dr sent me there.
It could cost me $400 for a test that insurance may not pay for. Now it's just a guessing game. I should have insisted on Igenex.

I was raised in Maine, graduate school in NYC, summer house share on Fire Island from 1980 until 2001....don't know where I first got infected but when I started feeling unwell around about '80, my NYC doctor would annually send my blood to Quest, sometimes Labcorp I don't recall when we started testing for Lyme, but the tests continued to be negative year after year until finally in 2001 I knew something was terribly wrong and a savvy LLMD sent my blood to Igenex and Stony Brook where I finally had positive results
whenever someone says to me that their blood was sent to Quest or Labcorp I shudder...and advise them to try other labs....

If your doctor is not using Igenex, then he is not a true LLMD.
