A friend gave me her almost empty bottle of YL Thieves Oil.

So have been researching EO's and want to try a few.

I see where some YL EO's are sold on Amazon.com.
Also other brands.

I need to order online - Amazon.com the easiest.

I probably don't want "hot" oils.

Would like to try using topically and inhaling - for various "ailments".

I need to be careful because of my dry mucous membranes - especially eyes. A little concerned that the "fumes" could sting/irritate my eyes? (and nasal passages etc).

Tks any thoughts/experiences.

Be careful ordering YL oils from Amazon.com...lots of counterfeit stuff on there...

Safer to go directly to youngliving.com if you want their oils...

The only time I've had eye irritation from fumes from the oils is when I put the oils on my face a little too close to my eyes.

If the oil vapors bother your eyes, can put a small amount of clean cooking oil in your eyes to help dilute the essential oils.

Water enhances the essential oils, thus won't stop the burning that sometimes happens when an oil is very strong.

Always use vegetable oil (such as olive or coconut oil) to stop burning or irritation from an essential oil.

Tks Razz.

Yeah had read that some oils sold on A.com are not what they should be.

Sheesh - how could they be counterfeited - bottles, labels etc?

One can buy directly/online from YL???

I've had the TO bottle for a few days.

First days I did not open the bottle and could smell the TO throughout my (small) house.
Thinking TO too "hot" I put the bottle in the garage - to stop the strong smell in my house.

Tonight I got brave and opened the bottle. Kinda like uncorking a genie - or so it seemed. I was careful. I put one drop in a whiskey shot glass with water. Just to sit in the kitchen. Any benefit from that? (don't have a diffuser)

Or harm? The small amount of water enhances the one drop of oil? That is released into the air?
Could burn sensitive tissues?

I have much to learn. Will be very careful.

I found the YL website.

I guess one can sign up and buy directly - online?

I was surprised at the prices.

I had researched EO's on A.com - didn't see those high prices.

And in truth I am not a fan of MLM - which is what YL and DoTerra appear to be.

Are they truly the best oils?

Other brands as good (which ones?) - less expensive - no MLM?

I read where Wild Orange is a good oil. Did not see that on the YL website.

Still researching. While learning I will have questions.

OK - so I sleep in wool socks (Smart Wool).

One can use the oils (EO's and carriers) and put on wool socks?

Or one needs to wear cotton socks?

If you're on Facebook, post on your page that you want to buy essential oils, chances are one of your friends can sign you up. I signed up through a friend and now buy at the discounted price when I need them. It's easy.

I buy organic essential oils online from Mountain Rose Herbs. If you don't need organic, Now essential oils are a bargain. There is no good reason to buy over priced over-hyped essential oils.
