im not sure when it was written and i know some stupid things are said-like the rash-but some real things are said too

my llmd said HLA 4 and 2 were why i got rid of many sx but the osteo arthritis just kept getting worse and i had to treat that with mainstream medicine

he said i am like the ones who took the vaccine for lyme and got totally disabled he said i/3 population has those genes

this came my way and i havent kept up with research so i wonder what you think

also ... if this proves our point...why dont the guys down the bottom get it?

Good digging lpkayak, may very well be a key. I have the HLA-DR4 gene and about 10 years ago it was explained this way.

The outer surface protein that this thing hides in is very similar to one of our proteins and as such our system doesn't see it as a threat, so our system is useless in the fight. Abx was our only hope.

By the time this was figured out I had a deformed foot and knee so bad I had to ratchet up and down stairs. So much nsaids lead to heart problems later. Massive amounts of bicillin and flagyl were showing noticeable improvement in all symptoms except arthritis.

After a few years, the improvement seemed to stop and I figured the reason I felt so bad might be all the abx I was taking. I cut back to one tinadazole per day and started feeling better. Switch to doxycycline, only one pill per day, thinking more propalatic than cure and an amazing thing happened, my knee healed and is normal today. The foot was damaged too much but is manageable.

I've been off all abx and nsaids for over a year or so except I pulled a tick off and had a thirty day round of abx about a year ago. Pretty much normal except for this fricking heart problems from nsaids and lyme.

Looking back, no doctor in his right mind would prescribe the amount of abx I took due to lawsuits. I guess that how I got the name labrat.

I dont know...i took twenty amoxil 875 s plus 1000 mg zith a dy for two-three years

My llmd then did gene test cuz all sx were gone except arthritis

I was pos for HLA 4 and 2 so he told me we probably should stop lyme tx and tx arthritis mainstrem way

I used ibuprofen, cosamine ds and other arthritis stuff like heat, ice etc for many years

Eventually two new knees and i could ride again for five years but then had one knee revised a year ago and im.not recovered frim tht yet. Havent ridden or kyaked in a few yeears..not happy.

But shouldnt complain i guess compared to what some on here go thru

Ill be back in a minutr..need to check thst artical

Ps-i didnt find it...a newbie i am helping found it
