Never had this before as far as I can remember, or maybe just not to this extent.

Skin sensitivity in the past, touching hurt, even a light caress.

This time, woke up and it felt like the worse sunburn on my face. Within minutes this sensation moved down my arms, upper chest and thighs.

Skin felt like it was on fire and was pretty close to calling 911. The only reason I didn't was because I have a pretty extensive list of medical workups that I do on myself fairly quickly (not advised for others, but works for me).

All the following were in normal in range for me. Blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature, stroke symptoms done in mirror. All done with proper medical equipment at home.

I didn't have any other symptom except the intense skin burning and red skin.

Cool water helped as did taking off clothes as they were chaffing.

So from I've already read... another form of neuropathy?

Side note tongue in cheek: Probably just depressive symptom (thank you CDC donkey doo doo doctor that is getting my work insurance pulled due to his incompetence)

Any thoughts, suggestions, experiences of your own?

I had this in the past with Lyme or one of its coinfections. Certain medications made it even worse. If you are taking a medication, stop for a bit, and see if it subsides.

It is a toxic reaction to your infection exacerbated by medications (also toxic). The infection is exciting your nerves.

OR

Maybe, it is shingles. I have never had them, but see a doctor in any case.

Good luck.

List everything you are taking, including supplements. For example, niacin can cause you to feel like your face and chest are on fire. It is terrible!

So, make your list and look up each one for side effects or post it and we will pitch in and help.

Shingles generally go down one nerve only. So, that much of your body would not have been affected if it were shingles.

Detoxifying will probably help. Drink water like mad and put fresh squeezed lemon in it. You can also take Alka Seltzer Gold with lemon in the water.

Throughout lyme treatment drink water like mad and put fresh lemon juice in it. It works wonders. Lemons are natural cleansers and water flushes out the body.

Hope you don't experience any more attacks. Detoxing could be all you need.
