Is there an med for insomnia that is effective, but not addictive?

I took klonopin for nine years; it was highly addictive and almost killed me, so benzos are not an option.

I've tried valerian, melatonin, chamomile, benadryl, rozerem, and trazadone to no avail.

Thanks.

Ambien .. at least it is one that's not that hard to get off of.

It's not anything like klonopin.

Have you tried mega doses of magnesium? Natural Calm?

If there is mental hyperactivity homeopathic
Coffea Cruda 30c.

Someone was telling me they loved this tea

because it has extra Valerian in it:

When I can't sleep I inhale for a count of 4

Hold for a count of 4

Exhale for a count of 4

Pause for a count of 4

Inhale for a count of 4, etc.

It is so boring that it knocks me out. lol

Lavender oil.

You probably tried all of these things

already. Another lady swore by Mountain Rose

loose Lemon Balm tea but

I don't know anything about that.

I like that inhale...exhale one. I have done something similar or gone to my happy place: riding or paddling...just day dreaming til i fall asleep...thats also what i do when they put me to sleep for surgery

Listening to recorded/youtube philosophy lectures

can knock anyone out. Listen to Deepak Chopra. Not

that he is boring but at some point your mind

will just say "Oh man! Whut?" Deepak says

something like "You are the universe and the

universe is you. The copper pot never existed but

yet it exists because you see it. Rods and cones

in your eye perceive it but rods and cones are

mostly empty space."

snore........Zzzz

Readings of Shakespeare could do the same thing.

He he

I was listening to one binaural brain CD to go to

sleep with but seriously - one night I heard it

say "Thank you for letting your soul enter the

portal." What?! I rewound it. Yep, it really said

that. How many times in my sleep did my soul

enter some portal to who knows where? I threw it

out! No thanks.

I am trying things other than ambien myself.

I have had some success with sleep optimizer by jarrow. It is a cocktail of low doses of many herbs, etc used for sleep. The individual items did nothing for me but this makes me sleep. The dose is two capsules and I only take one.
