I would bet it's a 660nm red light emitting diode - I have used them and they're lovely - they come on one-light, three-light, multiple-array lights -
they do reduce pain - for me, within five minutes - in whatever area you hold them over, and they're also just good for the body - there's usually a manual of some sort explaining how to apply it for general body usage and why.

- SOTA LIGHTWORKS is an excellent one. Check out their website for more detail.
I'd sure not buy one from just anywhere. They are not all the same. -

- Robin, as some are far better than others, what is the brand you have that is so good for you? -

Judie recently posted this thread about a light bed. There are many good LIGHT LINKS here. -

I would take something with Nogier frequencies and also with the 880 nm wave length, that goes deeper than the 660 nm.
The PE1 has a few different wave lengths in one machine, which I find helpful.

- How do they work?
By helping to increase circulation for a start, I think, is the main way - the links and articles will explain more specifically. Some lights go deeper than others to do that, of course. -
