Hello everyone
It's been a very long time since I've posted. I'm here to share a ray of hope! [Smile]

I watched the documentary, "Fed Up" (Netflix) last week and I am now 5 days off of all sugar! The only sugar I eat is fresh fruit. My entire body and wellbeing has improved by more than 50%!

The brain fog has lifted. I am now 75% free of pain in my hip joints. I've lost 3 lbs. Irritation has ended. I'm happy.

I am now truly questioning whether Lyme is the problem afterall! I mean, is it possible that lyme bugs have always been in our environment but my body being toxic from sugar combined with toxins in the environment made it so my body could not handle this infection when there was a time it could?

That is my question. Here's my suggestion. If you are sick with lyme symptoms, watch the movie Fed Up and get off of all sugar asap! the withdrawals only last like 4 days. I mean, no artificial sweeteners, no bread, crackers, cereal, white potatoes, chocolate, cookies....

But, it's worth it! I promise

Sending out love and hope to all!!

Great to hear that. And good advice for everyone to consider all kinds of things in their foods that may be contributing to symptoms.

Although, lyme is certainly a force separate, a good program for nutrient intake and avoidance of stuff that can harm is vital. Gluten & sugar are two major aspects that many find are best avoided.

Still, while important, Lyme cannot be treated by diet alone. Of this, I am certain.

But, can we confuse the cause of some symptoms at time, or the degree of their intensity? Certainly. That's why the most health nutritious food plan is best.

Curious about your journey, I see that in Feb. & March of this past year, you posted

" . . . after 4 years of abx, I have completed my treatment and am doing well. . . " -- "95%" better or better "95%" of the time, [I forget which but that is very impressive.]

So glad to hear that now you are putting the final touches on a fuller recovery. There are so many other ways to enjoy delicious foods. Glad you are finding them.

Sadly,

This does not appear for me with NetFlix streaming. I don't even get the "only on DVD" message [although I do not have the DVD feature].

Can anyone else find this at all? There is another silly movie with "Fed Up" in the title that shows, but not this documentary. Unless one has the DVD feature, they cannot browse DVD selections or even search for any DVD with streaming option only.

It does make sense that it would be DVD only, as so few really good options are in the streaming choices - especially anything current. I know this is about fair compensation to the film makers and crew, cast. I don't deny they all deserve to be paid for their work and I guess the streaming option does not do that as much as the DVD fees.

Some good detail below - hope others will see this. When I can barely afford food, itself, I'm not about to buy any DVD at all.

FED UP - official website

Everything we’ve been told about food and exercise for the past 30 years is dead wrong. FED UP is the film the food industry doesn’t want you to see.

From Katie Couric, Laurie David (Oscar winning producer of AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH) and director Stephanie Soechtig, FED UP will change the way you eat forever.

The Best Food Documentaries to Have on Your Netflix Queue - by Rachel Teper - April 2, 2014

Excerpt:

. . . Among them is “Fed Up,” a new documentary that alleges the food industry has waged a 30-year campaign to mislead the public about the health and safety of its food, all with the help of the United States government.

Narrated by Yahoo’s own Katie Couric, the film will debut April 29th at Toronto’s Hot Docs film festival. . . .

I am totally in agreement. So many will NOT try going completely off of sugar and white foods.

They can make a person very ill and/or PREVENT them from being able to GET WELL.

I would suspect that candida is or has been a part of the picture.

Congratulations! Keep it up!

PS.. I do believe that Lyme infections must be treated with antibiotics .. and you did that as well.

I'm supposed to be going off most sugar and gluten soon. I told myself after thanksgiving.

I'm not entirely sure I could ever give up chocolate though.

You do not have to give up chocolate. It need not contain sugar. The benefits are not from the sugar but from the cocoa, itself.

There are various ways to enjoy a little good quality chocolate with zero sugar or those dreadful sugar alcohols, either.

I rented a copy of "Fed Up" at the video store. The problem with keeping "some" sugar in your life is that sugar is...8 times more addictive than cocaine!

The only sugar that I'm eating is fresh fruit, 2 servings per day. 80% of the foods in our grocery stores contains added sugar. So, that keeps the addiction going.

My advice is if you are suffering from lyme, watch this movie ASAP and get off all sugar...I mean all of it! And, don't cheat. Your body has to detox.

On Day #6 being off all sugar, I am meeting a person that I have never met before. ME! I can't believe that I lived sick basically for the first 49 years of my life.

What I know now is that sugar is a poison! It's a toxin to our livers and we can only handle like 9 g per day! Yet, we are eating like 60 g per day unknowingly cuz it's in everything!

[Smile] peace and love out!!

Thank you for the reminder. I can't stay off sugar for very long because initially it makes me feel sooo good.

I agree with Lymetoo, that candida may be a part of the symptom picture, and sugar feeds it.

If only I can quit.

A sugar addict,

Me
