I thought I'd give this it's own post so others would see it (described it in another post).

Anyways, I keep getting these red marks (sort of like "scratches", or thick lines). They appear randomly on my upper arms, and gradually fade away. They appear several in a row, and I haven't done anything to cause them.

I didn't test positive for Bart but my LLMD says I have it. Do these look like possible Bart marks?

It would make it easier to keep everything in one place so people don't have to go back and forth. I'm not asking you to change it, just keep it in mind for future posts.

I don't know very much about bart .. so won't comment on photos.

Ok, will do Lymetoo in the future. I had posted my link at the bottom of a thread so wasn't sure it would even be seen, that's why I started a new thread. Oops.

My bart rash looked very similar. The streaks were on my torso. The bart rash is from inflamed blood vessels. My LLMD was positive it was bart. They showed up when I went on doxy and it took them a year of treatment with bart meds to go away. They would get darker when I took a shower, probably because of vascular changes with temperature.

There are only a few things that look like that besides bart. An adrenal disorder can cause similar looking streaks and stretch marks look similar. If that is your knee then those would be unlikely to be stretch marks.

Has your doctor commented on them?

Terry

Hi Terry,

Those marks are actually on my upper arm. Wow, just like you my rashes and streaks started appearing after I started antibiotics (first when I was on Ceftin, then Doxy). Mine also stand out more after a warm shower.

My doctor has seen my other rash (which is red splotchy blotches on my arms and back) and he says Bart. When I was at my last appointment I didn't have any visible streaks or pictures.

I've been taking pictures to show him at our next appt. He already clinically diagnosed me with Bart even before I showed him the streaks, so I'm thinking they probably are related to Bart.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Brinkley, Those look just like the marks I get every so often.

I definitely get them after taking a hot shower usually late in the evening, or they can even show up after a hot shower during the day, there's no predictable pattern really.

Plus they can show up just out of the blue without me taking any shower at all. They'll show up (the red streak marks), stay for a few days, and then fade away eventually. It's crazy.

I definitely have Bart, but I have no idea why these marks show up. It's very disheartening to keep seeing them pop up even after years of treating Bart. I definitely never had these red streak marks before getting bitten by those two ticks a few years ago.

I guess one thing is consistent is that you and I have what look like almost the exact same marks... So we know we both have something for sure...
