I have even detoxing my butt off! No relief from anxiety and insomnia and stomach issues! Does that mean it's not a herx?

Posted by unsure445 (Member # 15962) on :

Probably. Are you on anything for Bartonella?

That has been my experience. A "herx" that doesn't subside with detox is usually a flare, especially if ongoing or worsening.

I agree with unsure445, I would seriously suspect Bart.

Does a flare just start quickly?

Doesn't make sense though this stuff would happen. After adding in oil of oregano and caprylic acid

When I added in oil of oregano for the first time I told my llmd that I felt cruddy the next day and said you must have a bit of candida.

The symptoms of candida are not always black and white with vaginal yeast, thrush, etc…

Sometimes they are very much the same as lyme and co-infections.

You might need a few weeks of diflucan to settle things down.

This is why I keep
Thinking it's a long herx.
Maybe different detoxes are needed for yeast?

Yeasts can release heavy metals. These metals can get trapped in enterohepatic circulation. If your kidneys are still able to move the metals out, then the symptoms should fade over time. If not, you need an intestinal binder to prevent enterohepatic circulation.

But of course there could be other toxins involved as well.

"Detox" as a verb can have a wide range of interpretations.

Sometimes, while we are willing to put up with a lot just to do the right thing, though, some approaches can be too much - adding stress to liver rather than supporting it to work the best it can -

- or maybe not quite the right balance or approach - for YOUR body, at this particular time, along the lines of S13's post above.

Some of the articles here explain more yet, still, even if liver / kidney support is right on base, that does not mean at all that one is going to feel good.

Even if one is treating these infections, that does not mean that one will feel good. (Sigh!)

It does take a quite a while. Of course, the goal is to feel as good as possible during and that's where one's LL doctor comes in so they can help you interpret what's going on and what it means. I don't encourage just feeling miserable and thinking, "oh, well, that's just how it goes" though. Maybe some clues here:

Caprylic acid provided me with, by far, the worst days of my life. It's not kind to many. It is an ACID, after all. I tried several times over months but it was just not going to work. Glad to just walk away from that.

There are others that worked far better for me, (assuming you are taking this for candida). Seagate OLE was so much more effective, and kinder.

Well
I stopped everything. Like I said even my abx. I just need guidance here in a bad head space.

Wish I knew what was happening?

take lots of activated charcoal especially for a candida/fungal herx, then follow 20 min later with alka seltzer gold. Works really well for me.

Jcld did you have anxiety with it? How long did ur last?'

I wish I never took anything at all! I was doing finw

Posted by jlcd1 (Member # 18138) on :

yes i do. I have horrible anxiety and i think its mainly yeast or fungus and bartonella. Have you taken anything for yeast in the last 4yrs?

Posted by tricia386 (Member # 29623) on :

No. Do u have anxiety continually?

Posted by jlcd1 (Member # 18138) on :

yup, started really bad in july of last yr, always had a low level of it but nothing like this where i had to take xanax for.

Something just changed and i don't know what. But i did take 8 months off abx which i guess was a mistake.

Of course, it's a complex maze with many variables and not just this one thing but this one thing can matter, big time.

For those with anxiety, just in case you have ANY seaweeds / kelp in your diet, that can send anxiety sky high. There is a natural "MSG" action going on there.

Detail here, just scroll down to the GLUTAMATE / GLUTAMIC ACID posts:

Im just so confused. I was doing so well for about 1.5 months?

Besides a herx what could have happened here?
