I saw my LLMD on Monday and we have been working on heavy duty detoxing after all these years of hard core meds.
He has suggested that I start using Takesami Bamboo Charcoal.
I have used activated charcoal, chorella, and Tox-Ease in the past.
Is there anyone out there with any experience with Takesami Bamboo Charcoal? Any tips?
I know that I mix this in water vs taking pills as I have with the other forms.
Activated Charcoal gave me constipation. Will the Bamboo probably do the same and what are some of the more gentle ways of easing through that?
Any advice for a newbie to bamboo charcoal would be so appreciated. I have it on order and should get it by the end of the week.

I dont know about that but i think i will be getting on the detox bus in about a month...for at least a year
In my readings charcoal is suppised to be the easiest. Csm and welchol are more known to be constipating
I have been reading a lot about dr s in md detox protocols
I read that some who get constipated with csm and welchol are able to take them id they add a lot of vit c and mag. Thst is what iplan to do
I also use senna if i have trouble...but thats just me. Not from dr s.
Good luck

I have used Takesumi in the past for about two years. It works well also to chelate heavy metals. I never had any problem with constipatiion while on it
Magnesium is a good way to counteract it if you have that problem
it does take a little getting used to drinking it though, it's pure black, but it didn't taste that bad. Be careful though, I have stained some clothing

Thank you, Lyme987, That is the type of stuff I wanted to know.
I do take magnesium now, so I imagine I will just continue with it while on the Takesumi.
As far as staining clothing, THANK YOU. Great tip to know.
I knew it was black and was concerned about the taste.
If you have been doing it for two years, I imagine that means you feel you are getting great results from this product. Thanks again.
Lpkayak, I haven't used the other products you are discussing, so don't understand comparisons.
Good luck in your future persuits.

I've used chlorella, CSM, charcoal and most recently takesami. It is funny, my doc said it was not constipating, but I found it to be VERY constipating.
I stopped taking it this week because I've been sick with a cold and it was hard to do my usual regimen. I feel so much better off of it. I don't even want to try it again...
I found CSM and charcoal to be less binding. It's funny how we all react so differently to different meds and supplements.

My LLMD recommends it, so that's a pretty good recommendation! I've been taking for some years now with no problems. I just drink it down with water or juice. It turns the inside of the cup black, so got to wash it out afterwards!

I think it's a pretty strong binder, so I think many will have reactions.
I used to react to everything under the sun, but not so much the binders. It really helped me with metals.
I think it also has some mild microbial properties

Sometimes it makes me herx, so I use other binders.

Thank you all for your input.
Sounds like something I do need to try, at least for awhile.
And yes, my LLMD recommended it too, which I feel is a high endorsement.
I know we ALL respond differently to all these things we try, but you gave great food for thought. Thank you.

My biggest concern about this product is that it
comes from Japan which is getting bathed in never
ending radiation from the Fukushima, out of
control forever, nuclear accident that happened
on March 2011.
I can tell if something has radioactive Iodine
(there are hundreds of radioactive particle types
spewing out over there) because it goes right to
my thyroid and it swells. But still, even if the
radioactive iodine wanes it could be hot with
radiaoctive particles that lasts thousands of
years.
When Fukushima happened I bought bamboo charcoal
because it ties up radiation and I wanted to buy
some that was from before the accident. If it
ties up radiation then it could be a "hot"
product just like Chlorella from that area.
We cannot depend on the EPA to protect the US
citizens from highly radioactive food/beverages.
Besides making a media-blackout over the
accident's constant flow of radiation into the
Pacific and our jetstream (radiation comes down
in our snow and rain and it is also high rads to
fly)the govt. quietly raised the allowable
levels in all foodstuffs by 2,800%.
Radiation has risen 20% in Hawaii and California
and not a peep from the media or our government.

As far as detox goes, I am using Living Clay and really like the results. I'm trying to "fix" my salicylate sensitivity and histamine intolerance.
Good luck with the charcoal!

Are you using the clay in baths, drinking it or both, Lymetoo?

I agree with Lookup about everything, and radioactive particles are a concern. Maybe that is why it makes me herx sometimes.

As stated up-thread, radiation is why we should be concerned about products from Japan and the Pacific.
For example, look at today's articles from enenews.com
TV: Billions of mysterious creatures dead along West Coast — “Literally covering all of Oregon coast” — Washing up from California to Alaska — Expert: Death totals are staggering, “it’s got to be billions” (VIDEO)
“Caldrons of hell” created at Fukushima, says energy company official; Disaster is recurring each day at plant — Japan Nuclear Expert: We have a crisis “of a severity that can’t be imagined anywhere else”; People have been abandoned and “thrown away” (VIDEO)
Well, this is taking a turn in a direction that now has me concerned.
My LLMD recommended it, so I have it on order. It will be arriving tomorrow.
But NOW what? Yikes.

. The mysterious creatures are blue jellyfish, and they don't know yet why they died. It could be lack of food or lack of oxygen in the water.
