I really hate to blame everything on lyme but it looks like that is what I'm up against again!
I battled lyme back in 2006-08 and was on IV rocephin for a year and orals another year. Since then I have had only 3 years where no antibiotics were used.
Fast forward February of this year a case of sciatica. By April it went to my sacrum and three weeks ago I got the worse rectal pain of my life non-stop. The Dr.'s ordered Catscan's MRI's and yesterday a Pet scan. I have not gotten the Pet scan results yet but the MRI and Cat scan showed Sacrum swelling (severe).
My primary Dr. thinking I had a bowel infection put me on cipro and flagyl for seven days. By the fifth day the rectal pain left and the sciatica has disapearred. I still have slight sacral pain but I can sit for the first time in four months.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell me it's the lyme. I have an appt. with my Lyme Dr. this week and will be starting a course of antibiotics.
It took over a year for me to be diagnosed. No one thought to do a bloodtest. It wasn't until I saw an oncologist who said he had a friend who had lyme, ordered it. I was positive by CDC but by then it was too late.
I was having myoclonic seizures. If lyme was so curable why is there two camps of Dr's?? Because it's not always curable with a 30 day course of antibiotics..
Hope you're all well, I've spent a lot of time here over the years...
