My mom informed me today that she once had bartonella (the "cat scratch fever" variety). I asked when and she didn't specify, but based on the story, it was before I was born.

Q: [Can] Bartonella [be] passed from mom to baby?

Yes, it can.

Was your mother treated at the time she was diagnosed - or treated for something else that may have been the same Rx used for bartonella anytime between then and while pregnant with you?

Did she exhibit symptoms going forward from the point in time when she was diagnosed with it?

However, if you are questioning whether you have or may have bartonella,

as you are being treated for lyme by a LLMD (as I gather by your previous posts - and assume your LLMD has assessed you for all tick borne infections)

you could have been infected with bartonella at the same time as lyme. They often travel together.

Ticks & cats are not the only carriers, though. Mosquitos, etc.

If you were unwell as a child (or even before lyme likely came into your life), though, be sure your LLMD is aware of that kind of timeline for your body stressors.
