Please write to the courageous journalists at USA Today and thank them for exposing the fact that Lyme Disease - that "hard-to-catch, easily cured in 2 weeks" disease is studied at the "maximum-containment" lab at University of Texas A&M .
The Borrelia in question is recombinant Borrelia and the story, which concerns a researcher who accidentally got exposed to it TWICE in one week, is part of a thorough expose that USA Today has done of the appalling record of safety breaches in American biowarfare labs handling anthrax, Ebola, avian flu etc etc..
I strongly urge all of you to wrote in to their comment page (you need to sign in with social media eg facebook) thanking the journalists and highlighting the anomaly between a disease supposedly "easily cured with a short course of abx" and the reality of a disease so dangerous it has to be studied in max-security biowarfare labs.

The same researcher was bitten through a glove by a mouse infected with B. burgdorferi just a week later. He had to go back for another health evaluation while still completing the round of antibiotics from the first incident.
Both incidents were reported to the National Institutes of Health.
Lane Stephenson, the university's director of news and information services, declined to answer questions about the lab incidents.
"Regarding other aspects of your inquiry, we think the information provided in response to your earlier FOI request is sufficient," Stephenson said in an email.

Sounds like these folks were trained by the CDC. I'm sure they told the scientist that two weeks of an antibiotic and you are 100% guaranteed to have no issues. If you do, well its just all in your head and couldn't possibly be related to the previous incident.

Gotta love it huh... If this doesn't show how corrupt our government and healthcare system is, not sure what does.
Question that comes to my mind, are the doctors on the CDC panel finally going to be charged with anything after the lies are starting to surface. Now that there is obvious evidence of persister cells, where do we go from here.... These doctors are responsible for ignoring evidence while thousands, if not millions have died.
Chances are, they will probably get let off the hook just like wallstreet.
If anyone doesn't think that the coverup of Lyme Disease isn't related to what's going on with the rest of the country, you're surely mistaken. Corruption and capitalism is rotting this country to the core.... Food for profit, healthcare for profit, school for profit.
These people in charge made choices for the planet and us based on profit, hows it working for us and the planet? Not so good!
I notice that the scientist was given prophylaxis after the needlestick injury, but the public is denied prophylaxis after being pierced with the mouthparts of a tick in hyperendemic Lyme areas.

I agree with you about the corruption, but I think the cause has nothing to do with profit itself.
For certain the rich are getting richer, and the systems you mentioned are breaking down, but that has to do with legislation that purposely stifles competition while creating cartels.

Regarding lyme, ya, I can see it as a part of the big picture if any of it was engineered as a bio-weapon.
