I have been doing very well the past year. So much so that I haven't been on here in a while.

Back in November my big toe started to cause me lots of pain after exercising. I waited until this April before I saw a doctor about it thinking it would go away on it's own. I had it x-rayed and he said he saw a small amount of arthritis, gave me a shot and sent me on my way.

Now I'm terrified! It's been two months and my toe does feel great, but now I'm worried about Lyme coming back.

I keep hearing that I should have NEVER accepted that shot. Do you think I'm past the point of it returning because of a shot?

If it hasnt bothered you yet i would not worry too much. We are all different.

. I accepted shots in my knees before i knew i had lyme. Once i knew i had lyme i refused them becuse dr b said to.

However there are a few times i have had llmds tell me to use steroids ...mostly life threatening breathing or bleeding...but also topical in eyes and also short term oral along with doxy immediately to keep bells palsy from becoming permanent

In the last two yrs i had topical steroid from pt for knee pain and iv steroid in er for severe bronchitis

Both of these knocked me out and i was in bed for 3-5 weeks. Missed christmas first time and missed spring second time

I think its good you didnt have bad reaction...i would refuse in future unless very serious....did it help toe?

Ps...imo at this point i really would try to stop worrying about it making lyme come back. The worry is bad too...just enjoy your recovety. And life. And be smart. Stay away from ticks!

It did wonders for my toe and now I can jump again. I feel like exercise is KEY to my recovery, so if I can't do that then the downhill spiral begins.

I worry a lot...too much about the whole situation as I am sure everyone understands. I pulled a tick off of my 3 year old a few weeks ago! Ticks are everywhere!! And I, of course, live in a place where it 'doesn't exist.'

If it hasn't affected you adversely by now, I would agree that you are probably just fine.

There are superior options for joint pain (MSM, glucosamine, turmeric, etc.). Steroid shots destroy the connective tissue in the joint. One shot is probably not a big deal, but try to avoid them if you can.

but if you are still worried take some herbs for some time, they are always good
