These days, I seem to have a huge lack of motivation.

I feel as though I'm extremely ADD?

I've never really had the memory loss although I used to have a photographic memory which I no longer have.

Can anyone tell me what can be done to have more motivation?

Speaking for myself . . . once someone criticized me for having a lack of motivation.

They were so wrong.

And, if you are asking how to have more motivation, you HAVE motivation, the desire, the wish. Plenty of it.

Likely, it's energy (brain & body) to drive that motivation that you may be seeking? Just going out on a limb here.

Beyond energy, ability to function can hold us down. Vertigo, various kinds of that can also have us maybe feel like we are not motivated but if we wish we could do more, we have the motivation it is just that something is pulling at the MOTOR we need to run it. IMO.

Adrenal support, neuro support, if any inner ear stuff going on: Ginger can help.

If you assess your "vehicle functions" you might be able to see where to focus for at least one key to start the motor, so to speak.

You say you feel "ADD" and am dealing with some memory loss -- so that all surely unsettling and can have anyone wonder which way to go.

Making decisions can be so very hard with lyme - any kind of decision. That's my downfall. ANY kind. Perhaps, that may be with you as you talk about memory stuff . . . so how to start with (whatever)?

The trouble with making decisions may be misinterpreted as lacking motivation.

Just in case you might be taking any kind of sleep aids, they can really mess people up during the days like you describe.

FUEL - are you getting enough fuel?

If you have a LLMD, be sure to talk with them about this. It's really important as their may some elements of treatment that need to be more fully addressed

&/or

some elements of adrenal &/or neuro support. Fish oil, astaxanthin, etc.?

I hope there is something that helps. What about starting something brand new to you? Anything that brings you some spark of joy or interest.

It seems to me that I'm so far behind in what I need to do that I don't get any new experiences (and, well, being homebound, that's not easy).

Where you can, however you can, change your scene. Give your brain something new to learn every day. Even if it's just BBC Travel website, learn about a new place.

Some kind of physical movement, too, when you are more stuck . . . just move. If you listen to music, some kind of brand new to your ears music for at least 20 minutes every day.

MOZART, too, is the best music for the brain. Twenty minutes a day.

Background so others can better reply.

You posted on 12 June:

"I've been lyme free for quite some time.

I saw my lyme Dr. 3 weeks ago since I was having bad pain and headaches. My lyme Dr. said I have parasites, no lyme.

He gave me a parasite medication called Para A. My pain is worse and my entire body hurts.

I tried to back off the medication and I still have bad pain." (end quote)

Parasites (and all the havoc they cause) and also the treatments for them can really interfere with brain and energy function.

A liver that's been stressed for some time, too.

Just be kind with yourself as you go about sorting this out. If rest is calling you, answer to it rather than push it away. My tendency is to try to push it away and then I just get more dazed.

Chi Gong (Qi Gong) may be very helpful in surprising ways.

Maybe? It's odd since I still have symptoms yet my LLMD who does ART doesn't come up with it.

There's a missing piece that hasn't been addressed.
