Hi - I'm wondering if anyone has tried accupuncture for boosting or balancing their immune system? or for better detoxing? Has it worked?

I'm to the point where I'm either over or almost over Lyme and co. But my immune system is really crappy. I catch everything and can't get over it. For most of the past year, I've had a CPN infection off and on. And also get sinus infections that I can't get over.

Plus I'm sensitive to a lot of chemicals, additives, etc and seem to have trouble detoxing.

Would accupuncture do anything for these things or are there better alternatives? thanks!

I think reishi mushrooms and raising your glutathione level might be cheapest and most effective . You can raise it with: selenium, N acetyl cysteine, and milk thistle .

Google : glutathione AIDS , HIV, and N acetyl cysteine. HIV patients improved their total health and viral load with N A C and selenium in a medical study . Glutathione is EVERYTHING when it comes to GOOD health.

Also , sounds crazy but taking fresh chopped garlic with hummus ( 1 -2 cloves chopped) a couple of times a week with is a powerful immune booster and helpful for detox and liver and glutathione. It is also cheap.

Read about glutathione and see the relation to health in each system.

My daughter was frequently ill and seemed to get many colds and infections. She began drinking bottled green juice drinks because she was busy with her career. After starting the green drinks ( from grocery store ) she rarely had a cold!

Glutathione is manufactured dependent on vegetables and sulfur in diet . It is CRITICAL to healing and good health is impossible without it.

I think acupuncture can be very effective in getting the body back in balance.

I am currently going for acupuncture treatments by someone trained in Chinese medicine and I can tell you that it makes me very relaxed and feeling more balanced.

I usually leave there feeling better than I did when I got there. I haven't been going for very long but am hopeful that the positive effects will start lasting longer and longer.

I see it as a complementary treatment in addition to other things that we can do.

I used tapping acupuncture points I learned with dr. K. He said: no tapping, no healing. Patients that tap may improve, but if they don't, they don't improve.

For many reasons, meridians get blocked due to disease (or because they block, they cause disease).

Tapping is free. Once you learn the points you need acupunture treatment, you can merely keep tapping them, 3 x a day or so.

Tapping, in my experience, works even better than acupuncture, for this reason: you use it many times a day, while acupuncture, you go once a week for a while, then stop.

Tapping: you basically never stop, so your body can continue healing. It can open circulation to points, it can make your organs work better, you can help sleeping better, making anxiety go down, reinforce your detox system... so much can be done just by knowing which points to tap or do acupuncture.

I know what you mean by catching everything after lyme. Put me on the list.

I'm trying to treat myself now with high frequencies and with this super supplement called Megahydrate. It's 'just' an antioxidant, but it does keep infections under control too.

my daughter just caught something, got fever for 2 days. I treated her just with it, 4, 5 times a day. Today, she was playing outside like nothing happened. It did work!!

I'm keeping one jaw infection low gear only with it too. I'm quite surprised for what it is doing.

Thanks, improver! Do you mind if I ask what you mean by "more balanced"?

Brussels, thanks for weighing in! I just googled tapping and I'm intrigued. Free and non-invasive, that's awesome.

So does the acupuncturist tell me which points I need and then I can take it from there?

If the acupunturist is truly interested in your health and has TIME to explain you, he will tell you.

If the practioner is interested that you come back on and on, OR he has no time to explain you, he won't show you.

Not all practioners think patients are smart enough to learn.

They know nothing about lyme sufferers! [Big Grin]

If we don't learn, we just don't heal...

EFT is a sequence of a few useful acupuncture points. It takes you less than 5 minutes to do the sequence.

Google Mercola and EFT, you'll see pictures and a video with the tapping sequence he proposes.

Know that EFT is based on MFT, from Dr. K. EFT just changed one point from the MFT, so that they can sell it as being different than MFT.

The point that is missing in EFT is behind the neck, just where the skull meets the neck. An EXTREMELY useful point for the head, sinuses.

You can add other points just by trial and error,by yourself.

Or by energy testing.

Or by copying the points that the practioner of acupuncture does ON YOUR BODY.

The GREAT advantage on tapping is that it works in both ways: it gives energy to the point when it lacks energy.

And it takes off energy from the point, when it has too much energy.

Tapping just beside the spine behind my stomach kept me few minutes or hours pain free for 2 decades (I had gastritis 24hs / 365 days a year).

That was the only thing that helped, till I found chlorella (and got cured from gastritis for good).

What is nice with tapping, is that you do just about 10 seconds on each point and get such an incredible treatment. And that's all for free.

People do not know and do not believe the power of it BECAUSE it is SO EASY AND FREE! [bonk]

Acupuncture helped me tremendously. She is trained in Chinese medicine and also is finishing her phd with a focus on treating tick borne illness. I no longer go to her, but if needed I would. I found going once a week while having lots of symptoms worked. Then I dropped to once a month.

I guess by more balanced I mean less inflamed and in a more calm, relaxed state. Almost like my body is taking a break from being over excited and over stimulated if that makes sense.

It's a feeling that is very hard to explain. But even some of the symptoms we deal with can be very hard to explain.

I have found it to be helpful with pain from Lyme or general pain from things like tendonitis, muscle pain, swelling etc..

But sometimes head pain would worsen for a few days after.

No tremendous gains from it otherwise. Reiki has been much more helpful in balancing my nervous system and promoting relaxation.
