Can Bartonella go into hiding when attacked, lime lyme does, or is this really only characteristic of lyme? Thanks,

I really don't know.

I have only heard of it in relation to lyme. That occurs because lyme can change forms to evade various antibiotics.

Bartonella and babesiosis don't change forms. So, they can't hide. However, they can become resistant to various meds, so you have to have a doctor who knows how to treat these diseases properly.

That means he knows the proper doses, knows not to pulse the meds, etc.

Absolutely imo. When I was on Rifampin I had almost an immediate clearing of ALL of my Bart symptoms. It was heavenly.

But slowly but surely they'd start coming back or if I went off the abxs it was within a few days. I'm quite certain they hijack our own RBC/WBC and evade immune system that way. Also, aren't biofilm colonies a pretty understood thing now in the medical community?

These bugs are impossible for me to get rid of. I'm not even sure that should be the ultimate goal... but rather find a way to suppress them forever (immune system, long term maintenance treatments, etc).

I just wish I could get to that "maintenance" stage. I'm always in the fight for life stage it seems.

If you have not already done so, I suggest you read the thread on bartonella that is in General Support. It links to a very informative article on bartonella.

Here it is:

The doctor they are interviewing is local to me. He claims to be a bartonella specialist.

Lots of good info here regarding this disease.
