Ok, so I tested positive for Lyme Disease and they sent my blood to do the Western Blot test...which of course I don't feel I can't trust because my blood was drawn on a Thursday and I got notified that it was positive on Friday...

which is when they probably shipped it to do the Western Blot--so I know it wasn't done as quickly as they say you should do it & could have inaccurate results. I don't even know what the results are yet...

My daughter, however, was tested on Sat. and it was Equivocal... all of a sudden I get her Western Blot test back today (Wed morning) and it says it's Negative. Why did she get hers back before me? Should I trust the results being Negative?
Please help!

Well, since it was obviously not done at Igenex, it doesn't mean very much.

Any chance you can find an LLMD so you can be properly tested?

Lymetoo - I sent her several names of LLMDs in MN yesterday.

I have called 5 doctors off of the lists I was sent, and I have not gotten through to any of them... They are either not working there any more OR they are not accepting new patients.

I just left a message for 2 of the doctors that apparently share the same office...& I am hoping that they will call me back.

The secretary did ask what I needed to be seen for and I told her that I am struggling finding a LLMD that can treat me and my daughter. She just asked for my name/# and said she'll call me back. So, I'm hopeful that she didn't stop me right there and say they weren't accepting new patients. [Smile]

Thanks for all of the help and the messages of Dr. names and numbers. Keep them coming if you have more! [Smile]

IGeneX is a great lab for doing the IgM and IgG Western Blot tests. www.IGeneX.com - 1-800-832-3200 - they can send you a free testing kit, then you get the blood draw done early in the week and sent off.

Any doctor can prescribe the test, even if they don't treat. You can talk with IGeneX or other informed Lyme patients about what to check off for testing. It takes a couple weeks to get results back.
