Who loves their dry brush?
Mine is way too hard and is irritating.
Any good brands?

Mine felt very soft at one time, just went to see the brand (Earth Therapeutics) and it seem VERY rough to my skin. Now that I remember, I tried it a few times but it always left me feeling burned. That's why it's now in with my art supplies.

I'm not so sure about the safely of skin brushing for anyone with sensitive or tender skin. The skin can so easily be "broken" and those bristles, no matter how soft can introduce all kinds of things into broken skin.

With just good clean hands and maybe a light lotion, the skin can be rubbed as to what you want at that time - and there is no worry as to what kinds of microbes might be growing on a brush.

I've been having a hard time finding one that's not too hard as well.

I'm thinking if trying this one:

I have had a hard time getting myslf to dry brush for same reasons - it just hurts so much! So I brush in the shower. somehow my body can take it

better, I still can see a lot of circulation being raised up. I have heard that it is not as effective as brushing on dry skin, but that it still addresses

the movement of lymph, and blood circulation. So, my 'wet' dry brushing, for me is better than nothing.

Keebler - "it's now in my art supplies" LOL I am now thinking of creative uses of a dry brush in the art supply bin. I have a barber's brush, like

for old tyme shaving foam application. It was used in the gold gilding process. It is soft as a boby's bottom.

Yeah, microbes and/or mold on my brush ... hmmm tea tree oil?

It hurts in the beginning when your skin isn't used to it. Now I like the hard brush and when it gets soft with use, I buy a new one.

Take it slowly!!! No one warns you about how effective it is, but if I skin brush every day, I'm so overloaded with toxins that I get fatigued. I haven't been brushing lately, but when I do, it's only once or twice a week at the most.

sixgoofykids,
Thanks for the heads up about 'easy does it'. Interesting you like the hard brush after getting your skin used to it.

May consider trying a chenille cotton exfoliating glove (not to be confused with the chenille car washing gloves!)

Some days my skin or body is more sensitive so I switch between using Earth Therapuetics dry brush and the chenille glove .
