I don't do well with the pills.

I had bought a bottle of oral Thorne VD3 drops - but never took them. I bought Thorne because a review on Amazon.com - a gal said she used it topically to help with her VD3 levels.

I am wondering if these drops could be absorbed and used by the body. Correct molecular weight - or whatever - like with essential oils?

Topical VD3 creams are sold on Amazon.com. Stating specifically to use topically.
I guess I did not see that when ordering - but would like to use what I already have - if would work.

Have any of you used VD3 topically and felt results? Levels raised?

Along with everything else I am deficient in - I was recently reminded of my low VD3 levels. Perhaps that's another reason I feel so dreadful.

FWIW my labs from a few months ago:

D,25 Hydroxy 26 (30-100)
Magnesium Serum 1.7 (1.6-2.6)
Magnesium RBC 5.2 (4.2-6.8)

(Curious the levels Serum vs RBC).

TIA.

Yes, Vitamin D can be absorbed topically.

When I put Vitamin D drops on my skin, I get the exact same side-effects (mostly, severe insomnia) as taking it orally, without the horrible fish flavor.

Tks. Do you use a "carrier" oil? Or apply directly? (fish flavor with VD3 - confused about that.......). ??

The product I have used is Vitamin D3 (derived from fish) based in vegetable oil. It is an oral liquid (not softgels), so yes, it tastes (and smells) like fish to me.

Don't forget that Vit D3 will lower magnesium levels.

Razzle - gotcha - thanks. Had to think about that one - confusing it with fish oil supplements.

Tutu - yeah - I know. That's one reason I have not been taking any VD3 supplements. But I realize I have to. I have been infusing Mag. Sulfate IV - I seem to tolerate that the best.

Doing VD3 topically seems best for me. I would hope the liquid made for oral use would be effective in raising levels - applied topically.
I'm going to try it. Will see.....

Has anyone done this - and had levels tested?

I use a very very thick Vitamin E oil on my skin. Almost so thick I need to smear it on with a putty knife. Very concentrated.

Used the Vitamin D cream also for a while, but not faithfully. (Didn't check levels at the time, but am typically VERY low- almost nonexistent) My bad for not using it more. But, I found the cream nice to use.

Like you I am sick of pills, pills, pills.
