LLMD gave me a Bart blood test from Specialty Labs.

I came back 1:64 on IgG which was flagged as "high." Cutoff was <64. And I was = 64. This is the same result I got in May 2010 from this lab.

LLMD indicates this is an IND result and that he doesn't put much stock in long term IND results like this.

Thoughts on this? Do you think this proves I have Bart, or is it more of an interesting datapoint?

The only bart-like symptoms I have now are muscle twitching and very mild bottom of foot pain that comes and goes.

Other symptoms now are worse like:
-Floaters
-Top of Head/Back of head pressure/pain
-Sweats
-Hot Flashes
-Foggy feeling
-Stiff TMJ

Day sweats or night sweats? I believe day sweats are bart. I also believe bottom of foot pain is bart, even if it's only occasional.

I've been treating for Lyme 7 1/2 years, but just started treating bart about 10 mos. ago. I did Rifampin for the ten mos., and even did 1200mg/day for almost 6 mos. I felt worse and worse the whole time on Rifampin, but just kept pushing.

I had to go on medical marijuana for pain. It did help.

Then when I thought I couldn't stand anymore and was ready to stop treatment, I felt my symptoms start to turn around. I was able to stop the maryjane (CBD oil) with no increase in pain. So instead of stopping the abx, I continued for 2 more mos (was also on Ceftin, and Tindamax).

It's been a week off all abx and I feel better than I have felt in a long time.

I think Bart is the missed infection for many, certainly for me. I think Rifampin kills bart, but it hurts like a mofo the whole time you are on it. Dr. M, the Bart expert, feels you need to work up to the high dose and then stay there for 4 - 6 mos. He does say it will be painful.

BTW, I never tested positive for Bart, but I now know I've had it all along. Developed striking linear lesions while on Rifampin.

I mostly have night sweats. I can be fine, but then I get a hot flash and start sweating under the covers and then need to throw the covers off. Then I get cold and have to cover up again.

During the day, I get hot flashes. I'm a man and this isn't normal. I'm fine one minute, and the next I have an "attack" of sorts and get all hot and sometimes sweaty. (although sometimes not.)

I hate it.

What I don't get about Rifampin is why I was diong well in the late Sept / Oct time frame. My sweats had stopped. My twitching was nearly gone. THen it all changed and has been down hill ever since then.

With your night sweats I'm thinking babesia or Borrelia. Have you treated for babesia?
