Hey all.

I am six weeks into IV rocephin and tolerate it fine in the beginning but now all hell broke loose. I am having terrible

head pressure / dizziness, worsening joint pain, walking off balance , weakness to the extreme. Some twitching. Has

anyone else experienced this on rocephin ? Anyone who got better from this and can give me words of encouragement ?? Feeling hopeless [Frown]

And yes I am detoxing , eating clean, using a binder , probiotics and all that jazz.

In my experience the rotten days are followed by a few hours or about a 1/2 day of "better", then rotten again. Then a few days later another 1/2 day of good, followed by more bad.

Eventually you will get to the more hours good than bad. Then it will slowly clear up and you will feel magnificent!

I know this to be true- you'll be doing the hot dog dance at that point.

Lol tincup... I don't think I'd ever be more excited to do the hotdog dance. I take it that you found rocephin to be quite helpful ?? Thank you for your words of encouragement.

IV rocephin gave me nasty herxes, but it helped in the long run. If you are herxing too intensely, I recommend you contact your LLMD and you'll can adjust accordingly. Keep fighting!

Hi, I need feedback on Rocephin reaction.

Bright red blood in diarrhea. I'm on my 4th day of a 1gm push IV. I just took a couple Imodium. If it continues I guess I'll call the nurse hotline tonight.

What ABx can they do instead of Rocephin?

I guess I would have to run saline and heparin through the line until Monday when I can contact the Doctor.

Hope the Imodium calms it all down. Sigh.

My big concern is the blood. Not a lot, but I know they'll DC if they know.

Does your doc have an emergency line? If so, please call. If not, I recommend going to the ER. I know you prolly don't wanna hear that, but it's best to be proactive.

Best.

Bright red blood sounds like a hemorrhoid. If you have those, one could have broken.

Bleeding in the intestines or stomach usually results in black like tar stools as the blood is not fresh.

Of course, if you have not had a rectal exam in a while, you want to get one just to be sure you don't have a tumor or something similar going on.

A rectal exam will most likely give you the answer regarding the bleeding.

There is a stomach virus going around here which is causing diarrhea.

Blood in the stool can also be an allergic reaction. Please call your LLMD's on-call line.

For the herxing, let your LLMD know how you're feeling. Maybe they can adjust your schedule or pulse so your body gets a rest. When I was in intense Lyme treatment, my LLMD had me on a 3 week on, 1 week off schedule. I lived for those off weeks!

If you are using a home infusion service with a pharmacist that provides the Rocephin, you could also call the pharmacist there and ask about this.

I hope it is just a hemorrhoid and not anything worse. Good luck!
