Packypacky, no, these were molds. Candida was positive too though. They sent me a copy of the results.

Lymetoo, the nurse called me to give me the test results. She basically said "several molds were positive. EBV was positive. CD57 was 38. Doctor says send us $60 for transfer factors and we called in clindamycin for you."

Clindamycin is obviously for Lyme, but I'm not sure specifically what these particular transfer factors are supposed to treat.

WPinVA, I have no idea where I've been exposed. We haven't tested anything. Not sure how or what to do. Thanks for the link. I think the abx are starting to give me a tad bit of energy back so maybe I will be able to look at all this soon.

I am allergic to mold too. what do you exactly want to do about it?

I have just looked in to some info on clearing our house. it is everywhere.

I sprayed tea tree oil mixed with white vinigar all over the areas I could see it and this seems to have really helped.

I also am going to put tee tree in come crock pots in our basement and you leave them so the oil dried up and them do this every so often and it is supposed to help get rid of the mold there. I can look up specifics if you are interested.

I used to get shots for molds years ago. it helped for a while but now I don't do that any more. mold now really makes me feel way worse. makes all my sx worse.

obviously avoid moldy cheeses. I miss blue cheese!

I couldn't tolerate cholestyramine, which is what's normally prescribed based on the Shoemaker protocol, so my LLMD prescribed Diflucan.

I also got rid of the source of the mold, which was my Sleep Number bed.

And continue on detox protocols way past getting rid of the mold. It takes a while. I'd probably look for a functional medicine doctor to help you wade through it.

my one dr gave me a homeopathic spray for the mouth. is is a BIO DETOX formula. i don't use it consistantly because I forget so i am not sure it helps. I just know I am feeling better in this area.

and if you treat for mold but don't get it out of where you are living then you will continue to have issues.

Are there any parts of your house that smell musty? Have you had any water damage? Do you feel better when you are not in your house? Or better/worse in certain parts of your house?

You could start by having a mold inspector come out to your house to do an inspection. Just like any industry, some are better than others. A good one could help you a lot. They will do a visual inspection, some can smell the issues because they are so used to it, and they can do air sampling tests.

You also will want to check your HVAC system. Usually this is with an HVAC contractor, not the mold inspector.

If you do have mold in your house, proper remediation is the only way to get rid of it. Essential oils, air filters, etc are adjuncts but don't fix the problem.

Sam .. Transfer factor should boost your immune system.

If you are not taking Florasor or s.boulardii .. get some ASAP!! Clindamycin is #1 in causing c.diff.

I had a significant mold issue in my house. It was well hidden. A contractor did not hook the dishwasher hose up tight enough and water ran inside the wall instead of showing up on the floor where we might have seen it. We had to have walls, floors, ceilings torn out and replaced in part of the house and the whole kitchen was taken out and replaced. Insurance paid for the majority of the cost.

I was feeling pretty sick after all that so my LLMD ran a test to check for fungal antibodies. I had up to 50 times the level of normal antibodies to some of the molds that had been in our house before mold remediation. Only 4 x's for candida. Also high levels of inflammation.

Like six, my LLMD put me on an antifungal and a binder (cholestyramine) for binding of the toxins due to die off. I'll probably be on them for awhile but I am feeling a little better after a few months.

Mold brings down your immune system so you may have flares of some other infections with exposure to mold. Babesia has been a problem for me and that got worse.

Get rid of the mold and also spores in the air. Treat for fungus and inflammation. Check for Marcons (see shoemaker for testing). My doctor put me on BEG spray (compounded). Treat any infection that flares.

There is a lot of info in the archives regarding mold issues.

It's quite a journey but really worth it.

Transfer Factor is used to help modulate the immune system - it is not necessarily for mold treatment. Mold toxicity can definitely harm the immune system, just like tick borne illness. And together, they have a field day.

If I knew for sure that mold was my problem, I would try to find a Shoemaker certified practitioner by using the link WPinVA provided. I know people getting better on this protocol, after years of trying everything else under the sun. But it is not easy.

It often involves leaving behind possessions that are contaminated with mold spores and moving to a new mold free environment along with treatment recommended by Dr. Shoemaker's protocol.

There is a facebook group for those going through their road to recovery with CIRS - Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome and struggling with Lyme at the same time. It would probably help to educate you by joining if you are on Facebook.

Sam, a sauna is good for getting mold out of the body, preferably a FIR sauna.

I found day spas where I could use them for as little as $15 a visit. Remember to take a binder too.

Thanks for the info! I've been living in a moldy apartment for about a year and a half. We're moving next week. I'm going to have to do some detoxing - big time!

Is it necessary to do testing or can you just jump into a detox protocol? I can see it affects so many things - immunity is just the beginning... Some people think that cancer is a fungus.
