Hello everyone! I have been on antibiotics since August 2015 and lately I am starting to break out in these gross pimples. Most are on my scalp or around my hairline but some are also on my face. I've never had this problem before and my LLMD said this is most likely an overgrowth of yeast in my stomach due to the continued use of antibiotics. She put me on 2 weeks of Diflucan and it mostly cleared up but right after finishing up I am breaking out again! I've been on nystatin this entire time but obviously it seems to not be completely working. Any supplements I can add that would help control my yeast?

Thorne's product, SF722 is pretty potent. It's supposed to be 6x stronger than caprylic acid.

Call your pharmacist about interactions with those....

I very much doubt there are any interactions between undecylenic acid and those two drugs. And, I highly doubt the pharmacists will have any clue about whether they do or not. FWIW, I take azithromycin and SF722 together. I also take Nystatin to help control yeast.

Lymetoo posted some good links about controlling yeast.

I would be more worried about Diflucan and Nystatin interactions .. that is what I was referring to.

I was told that the diflucan and azithromycin had a known interaction so I stopped the azithromycin for 2 weeks and then started it back up again.

Thanks for the links btw, looks like I got some reading to do!

That's a strong one. Sounds like you have it covered.

I don't know if you're gluten-free, but my daughters and I all five get the pimples you're talking about when we eat gluten.

You can develop a gluten intolerance triggered perhaps by the Lyme.

Or you may have had it and only had visible symptoms once your body was busy fighting the Lyme.
