Has anyone here done one? Did the ingredients make you sick?

I worry about how sensitive I am to things. I think the test itself will make me extremely sick.

I have done the glucose and lactulose tests and neither made matters worse . I was negative on both, but do react badly to sugar.

I had a different, possibly more specific type of testing done at a university hospital for SIBO.

They did a specialized upper endoscopy going down past the stomach into the upper part of the small intestine. They visually inspect the bowel wall and fluid and can find abnormalities from this alone.

The doctor took biopsies from the bowel wall and fluid samples. They were sent to the lab and cultured for a few days. The lab results told us what type of bacteria & fungi were in the gut. It also told us if the bacteria was possibly overgrown.

So that's my SIBO test experience. Not fun but what medical test is?

What's in the testing solution? Do you know?

All I know is my GI doctor just DECIDED I had SIBO .. no test. He made me worse by giving me Xifaxin. I've heard from quite a few people who were made worse by this drug.

Check out the book, "The Gut Health Protocol" for sibo--natural. Very informative, and if you are on Facebook, Lymetoo, there is a support group by the author. Is your lyme reappearing, or another co-infection?

I'm on that group. It's not been very helpful for me. I can't take the protocol.

My testing for SIBO was 8 yrs ago.

canefan... Be SURE to read this before proceeding:
