I'm experiencing burning/ stinging soles of my feet. What the heck could be causing this?

Is this a herx or a symptom of bart, babs, or lyme?

It is a classic symptom of bartonella. I felt like the soles of my feet were burned!

"Other key symptoms may include gastritis, lower abdominal pain (mesenteric adenitis), sore soles, especially in the AM, tender subcutaneous nodules along the extremities, and red rashes. These rashes may have the appearance of red streaks like stretch marks that do not follow skin planes, spider veins, or red papular eruptions. Lymph nodes may be enlarged and the throat can be sore." (page 24, under "Bartonella-like organism")

Are you also supplementing with Vit B6, by any chance? It can cause neuropathy if you get too much.

While Bartonella jumps to mind as with others above. Also consider:

Fluoroquinolones in the past six months or so?

Blood Glucose issues?

New socks, synthetic socks?

[cotton are best, white or tan best to avoid strong dyes - of course always wash new socks a couple times before wearing with an eco-minded non-scented laundry detergent / no dryer sheet.]

New shoes with "antimicrobial" coated insoles? These can be chemical transport agents to our feet with who knows what chemicals. So can many insoles out of petroleum material.

Try to find CORK inserts for your shoes so you have as natural a layer as possible between you and the shoe material. Amazon has some.

Be sure your shoes can breathe, this usually means leather uppers / not synthetic - or a more open weave in summer months.

Hi Jim: I had excruciating nerve pain

with Bart. Rifampin with Zithro I believe was

the cure for me. I eventually had to do levaquin

as well but thankfully, that is all gone now.

My heart goes out to you. I remember being at

a function and having to leave because I could

not take another step. Persistence and

the right plan (med or otherwise) should take care

of this symptom. Best, WBT

Lymetoo,
No I'n not supplementing with B6.

WBT,
Is Bart one of the parasites that we can completely kill off?

It would be nice to get at least one co-infection out and gone forever.

Whew.. good!.. and no energy drinks, vitamin water, etc? It's also in fortified foods like cereals.

Bart is a coinfection of Lyme disease. I'm not sure of the cure rate.

Lymetoo,

**Correction**

Actually I just looked at my multi vitamin and it does has 50mg of B6 in it. Wonder if that is enough to cause problems?

JimSock,

I bought some really cheap foam heel and foot pads at a dollar store, almost having to crawl in there to get them the bottoms of my feet hurt so much. They did help some as a temporary fix.

I use to brag about the only thing on me that didn't hurt was the bottom of my feet. Every inch of me for many years has been so super tender and painful, and the nerve pain so bad it hurt to wear clothes, have a sheet over me at night touching my skin, have a fan in the next room blowing a soft breeze that would be coming toward me, be sitting or laying on material that was even slightly wrinkled (it felt like a log under me), etc.

Then one day out of nowhere the bottoms of my feet blew up too. It eventually went away (the pain, not my feet).

A friend of mine use to go down the stairs in the morning facing forward and going butt first, one step at a time, because they couldn't put any weight on the bottom of their feet.

Once the day progressed the pain lessened some, but it was caused by Bartonella too.

Here is info on Bartonella. Hope it helps.
