Since I.ve been suffering from Morgellons/bird mites on top of Lyme, recently I started to take DEC hoping to treat the parasitic pathogens responsible for them.

I've taken only the minimal dosage 50mg first day , 100mg the following days, but ever since I started I started to get dibilitating headache again despite me rarely having them nowadays. Many people on parasites forums took DEC as high as 1g/d without much adverse reaction, I'm wondering why me?

The pain are around my forehead and back of my head, pounding sometimes, worse when I squat down, almost blacked out. Last for long hours, been 12 hours today and still going strong.

It's related to sinus since steaming helps but I don't think it's the root cause. Sinus infection /congestion must be caused by something underlying.

In addition to headache, also feel like having a fever, can not do anything. Pure torture. But no muscle pain except for my right hand at the base of my palm, sometimes had twitching pain.

I took tinidazole and seems it reduced the headache.

Do you think it's possible Herx from DEC? It's mode of action?

it's pretty likely, it's an antiparasitic.

I hate to suggest this and I could be wrong but I just looked this up and it treats filiarisis. Go *really* slowly*. If you are herxing from that low dose you are hitting whatever it is well enough.

Do you have progesterone around? That can help with brain pain.

It crosses the blood brain barrier. If you are getting a lot die off and this much headache it might be wise to back off the dose or switch to something else if you've not pretreated with anything else.

It's best to use DEC after having treated with ivermectin because you don't want to be killing off too much at once. Very high amounts of parasites in the blood can cause blockages in the small blood vessels of the head and brain, leading to stroke.

You might find relief with vasodilators (ginger, coffee, and arginine come to mind but there are many). Systemic enzymes on an empty stomach can help with clearing the blood debris.

Are you taking any binders to help with detox? Parasites release a lot of metals and other stuff into our system with die off, including other infections they may be harboring.

Enemas can be very helpful to keep the dead stuff moving out quicker, and coffee enemas doubly so for the amazing detox benefits they provide.

I hope you feel better soon!
