So, a biotech company offers "pan" panels.

Apparently they somehow sequence DNA in a blood sample against the entire published public registry of microorganism genomes (some sites such as NIH publish these from an amalgam of sources).

So, for $3000.00 each for the prokaryote (bacteria) and the eukaryote (fungus/protozoan) you can have your blood tested for every known microbe.

I am intrigued by this. If I win a scratch-off lotto ticket, I am so in! If not, I can fantasize about the pros and cons of depleting my savings account.

I dunno.

I got a Lyme PCR from Igenex and it was negative from a blood sample. My babesia FISH test was negative and so was bartonella FISH. Still pretty sure I have all three.

The bacteria have to actually *be* in the blood sample.

You say for six grand ". . . you can have your blood tested for every known microbe. . . ."

I do not believe that is possible.
