Hi Everybody!! I'm still fighting to get my life back...28 years! Babesia is tough and LLMD Dr S keeps testing etc. Unfortunately I seem to be developing Parkinson's according to two respected Parkinson's experts.
However my post is about a weird reaction I had to a nasty bee sting. We got the stinger out of my arm, it itched and got red circle around it. Next morning I woke up with severe chills and awful headache. My whole body itched...still does.
I'm having kidney, liver and cardiac issues. I still do art in my bed and hope something will work. I see top docs and have same spouse supporting me. I am blessed with a wonderful family.And lots of bees. Posted by Keebler (Member # 12673) on :
- Sorry to hear of this. Sounds like an allergic reaction - especially with itching & cardiac issues - that you should call Urgent Care right now and tell them about it (as it's a Friday evening).
Please do call them right now. Even if it's the next day an allergic reaction could still be happening and it could cascade in unexpected ways.
The chills sound like a cytokine reaction and that's what can be so dangerous, in addition to possible breathing issues that often come with allergy itching.
Do not take anything, just call Urgent Care or your MD for advice. They should have a call service for after hours but will likely send you to Urgent Care.
I assume you have an EpiPen on hand (hope so) yet there are various ways this can go even if you don't have to pull out the EpiPen.
And, if you do, be sure to back that up with good adrenal support. Take care. -

Hi Faraday. ..are you doing bee venom therapy ? When i started stinging for lyme treatment i too got the itchy all over like crawll out my skin ..
i though it maybe from the andrographis ,or fentonal (procedure ) or lomatium but it likely was from me killing so much so fast ...
have you read the ellie lobel story? she will be there in cali next month
it was not allergic reaction it was histimine s to dieoff...if younate concerned drink some kids benadryl but a large dose vit c will clear it too like 5grams
my apitheripist sees a few parkinsons patients and she believes the pathogens just effect the nerves ...the can repair .

Thanks for the good suggestions. I am better than yesterday and breathing ok. But we should have called emt s when I was shivering so violently. We are going to get an epi pen. Meanwhile Im chewing Vit C tablets. Thanks for the tip!
Dr K in Germany uses bee venom injections. When I was hospitalized for septacemia and on Vancomycin infusions 2xday for 6 weeks I had similar itching, twitching, rashes everywhere, chills and sweats.
But I got out of my wheelchair first time in years, could read, play piano etc. That's when we realized my long illness was bacterial. PCR called it Lyme Disease.
Doctors all came to see me, my rash etc and called me "Miracle Lady". They had no idea what was happening.
My family got my PCR tested at MD lab that does work for CDC. Then we found Lyme and a top notch LLMD.
I did fairly well on IV Rocephan. But Babesia is bad, affecting my heart so I am on Mepron and Zithromax instead. I've been working with LLMD and other specialists for 7 or 8 years.
Now Im told I have Parkinsons. My LLMD thinks those symptoms will mostly resolve when my Lyme /Babesia is not so rampant. Sigh. Patience and Perseverance are so important, n'est-ce pas?

Read the ellie lobel story...bee venom kills apicomplexans like babs ....glad you are ok ..the homeopathic apis helps too for reactions ..when i first started i had baseball size reactions ..11 months in im a little better ...

Farraday, Lymelike Parkinson's gets treated with Lyme treatment and should improve with the right treatment for you, so I understand from others presenting as such.

what can help, depending upon severity and more in regard to preventing severity. It can become fatal very fast, though, so it's good to know as much as possible about it.

- If you ever are required to use EpiPen or any kind ephineprine, for those with lyme, it can cause severe adrenal distress so be sure to also have on hand adrenal support
Avoid both acetaminophen and ibuprofen for reasons listed in the Liver Support Links set. They can make the body unable to function during a cytokine storm,
and also just be aware that a very "wired" reaction could be with you for a few days afterward, no matter if adrenal support is on board or not. That would help but it's not magic.
Your reaction could me less in the playing field of cytokine storm and the kind of shock that can develop - and perhaps more in the area of adrenal shock. Allergic shock can have all kinds of variations, too. Important to know the nuances. Any shock episodes can very dangerous.
But, if you treat one kind of allergic shock with a substance that can further adrenal shock (if that is what is - or ALSO is - occurring, then it can become very murky.
Still, when required, an EpiPen (or equivalent) can be live saving if allergic shock issues. It just seems that with the reactions you state, some kind of shock is going on and that's never good.
