I have been trying to figure out what the eye floaters I have are - I have lots of them that are squiggly lines, but the ones that are transparent, circular, with a dark center are making me wonder what they are? They are different sizes. Some of them are quite large and take up about 1/3 of my vision.

I'm sorry to say I don't have any suggestions or idea what this could possibly be, but I am however experiencing a very very similar thing.
For me the weird floaters started shortly before i started treatment for chronic lyme and Bart.
I did recently go to the ophthalmologist for this very similar issue and the only thing the dr was able to even remotely suggest was a kind of ocular migraine (doesn't necessarily mean you'll have a head ache), which the dr had recommended I see a neurologist to further investigate.
again, I don't know if this is your case, but I would think it's definitely something to look into.
I'm sorry I don't have any information that could help, it was interesting to me to hear some one else experiencing this; i haven't really spoken to any one else who has dealt with something similar to this.
I hope your able to find some relief soon! If I can find any information that might be helpful I'm more than happy to share.

I have a floater in each eye but its like a mass of jelly that moves around.
my ocular/nocturnal migraines cause large circular silver rings and flashing lights.
I wake up in the middle of the night and can't see.
had every eye test they could think of, including a neurologist plus ct and mri---diagnosis was nocturnal ocular migraines and "nothing we can do. sorry."
they come and go now.
recommend a good eye exam.

This response isn't about floaters but about a bright ring around the retina (I think retina) that my eye doc said was found in a lot of Lyme patients.
What is represented was lack of blood flow in that area. But he said the lack of blood flow was not in a critical area for the vision. I was concerned that Bartonella and/or Lyme caused this and didn't want it to get worse.
This eye doc was going to work with Alan MacDonald to test the blood of these patients cause Macdonald thought it was probably Lyme causing it.

I've been able to stop my Lyme eye symptoms by drinking mangosteen juice. My symptoms were light sensitivity, floaters, eye muscle pain and blurring vision.
I had a neuro-opthalmology exam and the doctor found nothing.
My chiropractor suggested I try drinking mangosteen juice, and it worked for me.
I drink the Mango-Xan version as it's the most tart. Available in health food stores and online.
If anyone does try drinking the juice and it works for you, could you let us know? thx -

I do get ocular migraines. They are totally different than this. Those usually last an hour. These floaters are always there. I am wondering if it is related to whatever it is that is making me so sick. Maybe something that is encysted and that's why it is round.

Do your "circular floaters" appear to stay stationary (i.e., do the seem to always be seen in the same position in your visual field), or do they appear to move around (even though you may be keeping your eyes still)?

The floaters move around. They appear to move with gravity and sink.
I had a bio meridian screening that came up with acanthameoba (among many other things) and I am wondering if maybe this is what it looks like encysted. I can't find too much info about it though.

The acanthamoeba is found in fresh water and soil.
It can cause eye infections when swimming, showering, storing & handling contact lenses improperly.
Main symptoms are intense eye pain, sensitivity to light, blurred vision, redness, feeling that something is in the eye.
The acanthomeoba can be diagnosed by a thorough eye examination. Then treatment will require many months of RX eye drops.
There is a "Monsters inside me" show on Animal Planet featuring this condition that came out earlier this season. If you're interested, you might look it up.

You may want to see an eye doctor because "floaters" can be due to different causes.
I have thinned retinas and if I ever experience an increase in floaters or a curtain appearing in my vision, it is considered an emergency.
So instead of worrying, just make an appointment and find out what's really going on.
And FYI, this type of appointment falls under medical insurance. Maybe that will help you feel better about going.

Ive got thousands. You are the only one on here who has posted what I have done almost 10 yrs ago.
I went to a Neuro-ophatmologist. He looked at me like I was crazy. Who knows but I found that web page and it helped explain some of it.
Try laying under a bright light. Squint one eye close the other. let some light pass through. Now you can really see them!

Bigstan - yes, that is exactly what I am seeing. I do notice I see more of them when I look at a bright light, such as at the sky through the window, or while driving. That is freaky. What the heck are these things?
I went to a neuro-ophathamologist last year to see why I was having blindness episodes. They acted like I was crazy then. I am not going back to one about this issue because I'm not having any eye pain so they would really treat me like I am nuts I am sure.
