I have vision issues. My vision goes in and out too. Sometimes my eyes just hurt to look at anything. Sometimes It feels like I can't focus. Sometimes, I'm o.k.

HW88, That is pretty much what I have.

Started when my neuro part got worse about 9 mo. ago. That is why I feel it is related.

What do you think?

I am not on any treatment or have been.

I drink around an ounce a day of mangosteen juice to stop my eye symptoms. I like the Mango-Xan version as it's the most tart. You can find it in health food stores and online.

We're all different in how we respond to anything, so all we can do is try something and see how it goes.

I have floaters too and when I take Stephania Tetrandra tincture, the floaters go away.

On page 225 of "Healing Lyme Second Edition, he lists herbs and supplements for Lyme eye involvement.

For photosensitivity, he recommends four items, the first of which is Meltonin which he also recommends for insomnia.

Your question interests me, as I have a background in visual impairments, and also experienced this symptom when I was ill (now resolved).

One (of several) things that could be at play here is your ability to "accommodate", which means the ability of your eyes to maintain and change focus on objects at different distances at any given time.

This constant, everyday function requires very small muscles in the eye to maintain and/or change the shape of the pupil and lens quickly, the strength and efficiency of which can be affected like any muscles/nerves in your body.

The reason it may "come and go", is because the eye muscles fatigue at times, and have difficulty holding and coordinating and focus.

When it occurs first thing in the morning, it can be because the eyes are in a relaxed state for hours overnight in the dark (not required to work), and then take extra time to adjust and come into focus again.

Sometimes blinking can temporarily cause the eyes to go back into focus, but it may or may not "hold".

One of the many things that can affect the ability to accommodate is adrenal function (in fact, Dr. Wilson describes a test for adrenal fatigue in his book that measures the ability of the pupil to maintain stability when looking at a bright light in a dark room).

Also, Dysautonomia, and, of course, Lyme itself can cause major nerve and muscle weakness, which can be intermittent.

Other things that can affect accommodation are fatigue, fluctuations in blood sugar, drugs/alcohol, neurological conditions/injuries, fight-or-flight state, etc.

(breaking up the post for easier reading for many here)

Thanks for the info.

This began when my neuro got a lot worse & the passing out. Now know is dysautonomia.

I have so many added neuro prob. starting about 9 mo. ago. Along with other added physical prob.

Had been doing better then all sudden hearing(echoing) prob., eyes, passing out, loss of all muscle tone,(had athletic build), burning all over,++++. Just never ends each day.

Thanks for taking time to write.

Kerryblue...

Please consider reading the Mild Hyperbaric thread (20+ pages...read all if you can).

I had the same symptoms and am well now.

Personal opinion: Silver has the problem to a degree. She can have her eyes tested, new prescription issued and then after what I perceive to be a short time, the prescription no longer works.

It is almost as if the bug says to itself, "Hey! They fixed that problem. I'd better get to work and mess it up because I don' like things getting better."

Again, just my personal opinion, but it seems as if the bug[s] don't like issues resolved so they "adjust" things for their comfort level.

Robin, what does mangosteen juice do for the body exactly? I've previously heard that it's an anti-inflammatory

Hi, AndyR, TrekCoord, Phiof, Thanks for your info.

Is this using hyperbaric, I have really considered this if I can get treatment IV. with it heard only way really works. Will find article. Hard for me to read anymore due to neuro prob.

Going to eye doc. for 1st time since this began.

Never heard mangosteem, what is it? I have really hard time taking anything oral that is not tasty. Get bad gag reflux. Suffer from terrible nausea lately hard to even eat or drink good tasting stuff. Would try if helps.

This is 1 of just many neuro prob. having since last 9 mo. Always had neuro but not like this with the dysautonomia & electric shock, vibrating all over, plus burning all under my skin+++.

So lots to take care right now never got prob. treatment since 20+ yrs. of this crud.

This is a common misconception, in my experience and observation. I will be happy to explain and fill you in on more current info. if reading is difficult (as it was for me).

Rhoiph, Thank you can try to read but do not comprehend if it is in any length.

I have tried for yrs. I do not even read directions on anything just jump in & use or put together figure it out on my own. Slow but get it done usually without directions.

Can do short readings on here but when gets to long I am lost.

Will appreciate.
