My 4 year old son had a female deer tick on his scalp, which we didnt see until 4-5 days later. It was engorged and was identified as female deer tick. Ped started him on amoxycillin, as soon as he removed the tick off, it was almost the 5th day we are estimating. He had fever (101-102) and cough for 5 days after starting amox. Almost after a week, he got rash all over the body. It could be rash from amox or dont know what else it might be. So ped changed to ceftin for another 10 days and meanwhile the bloodwork showed he has mycoplasma. So he started on azithromax also for 5 days.He looks and feels better now, but I want to know if we need to do anything else at this point?
Does anyone have any suggestion regarding the treatment?

I would find a Lyme literate Dr. and get an opinion. I'm not sure of time frames, etc, LLMD visit will be out of pocket most likely, but in my opinion it's worth it.

I think the protocol is to treat for at least 4-6 weeks under those circumstances.Perhaps a little longer since he was symptomatic.
