I have a cup of coffee every morning and for now I do not want to sacrifice it. We get so few pleasures.
I have read this bullet proof coffee is good, anyone tried it? is it worth it? or could I go buy a single origin, organic coffee and add coconut oil and butter instead of buying Dave Asprey's "brain octane" (which is a medium chain triglyceride oil similar to coconut oil) product?

I drank my coffee "bulletproof" for a while. I think coffee should always be organic. I am very sensitive to molds in coffee but have had good luck with organic coffee from Trader Joe's, some of which are blends. No mold reactions so far.
MCT oil can be had from various sources. Coconut oil is good too. I like it with either oil and either salted or unsalted butter.
It can put a zip in your step but take care because it can move through your bowels pretty fast and cause a clean out until you get used to it.

can u recommend a place to buy? I'm going to guess you can get the same bf coffee cheaper somewhere other than the bulletproof website?

You can use coconut oil or MCT oil, whichever you prefer. MCT oil can usually be purchased where supplements are sold.
I often shop supps from Vitacost, Swanson, and Amazon. Where I buy depends on how fast I need it or price, as the supplement companies often run BOGO specials.
I think coffee being organic is important. Coffee that is improperly dried or stored can be prone to mold contamination. If it's tested free of mycotoxins (as is David Asprey's) then great, but that is part of what he brands his product on.
I'm really sensitive to molds, but have had zero issues with organic coffee from Trader Joe's. I think it all boils down to preferences and affordability.
For the drink itself I would sometimes add a dash of heavy cream, it made it a little more frothy when blended at high speed. It's been a while, I am wanting one of these now Posted by gz (Member # 43818) on :

I don't think that makes a big difference, as the mold/mycotoxins are with the whole bean. I always grind mine in the store and haven't had issues. If the beans have certain molds then mycotoxins will be a problem whether they are ground or not.

I got some single origin, organic coffee and butter.
I did order the bullet proof coffee but if I mix the organic coffee and butter will that do anything til I get the bp coffee and mct?

It was delicious but the oil drove the caffeine straight into my nervous system hardcore. It was tasty though!

MMMM I just found this coffee and it is sooo gooooood.... haha, can you tell I LOVE coffee!?!?!?! I drink it mostly with a small amount of grass fed butter and it is lovely.
