Hello, I just recently been diagnosed with Lyme, bart, and tick-Bourne relapsing fever. I am in stage 3 or chronic already for these 3 because am having neurological issues. Greatly impacting all aspects of my life. I wanted to ask about the medicine I'm taking and if it's appropriate. I am seeing a LLMD, here is what I'm taking:

-Doxy 200 mg twice daily capsule

-Rifampin **amount edited per rules**

-ceftriaxone **edited**

-O-zone therapy

This will go for 3-4 months maybe longer. I am also taking banderol, samento, cumda, cats claw, grapefruit seed extract, reservatrol, multivit, probiotics, ursodiol (to prevent gallstones), b vitamins, and gluten free diet.

Things I'm concerned about:

Rifampin interactions since it's an enzyme inducer.

Lyme resistance

Length of therapy (dr said till I feel normal for about a month but I want to go longer to be sure it's gone)

Lyme never going away or relapsing

Living day to day

Someone please offer any advice on anything. [Frown]

**We don't allow specific amounts of antibiotics on the board except for the doxy. If anyone wants to know how much, they are free to PM you. Thanks.**

Hang in there, Lymedeath.

You treatment is appropriate if it is addressing your current condition of Lyme and/or set of coinfections/symptoms/etc.

Remain open minded for what treatment length should be. Treatment can bring new symptoms and allow old symptoms to resurface.

Burrascano guidelines say to treat two months beyond resolution of symptoms, and that all comorbidities needs to be treated as well.

It does sound like you are in good hands. Lyme and co infections need to be hit at different angles sometimes before they give in, so do try new things. Every time I try something new I get a little bit better (hitting another layer).

There is a book called: The Tickslayer that I found interesting (below). She tried many different things. Heat was a big player for her. I recommend far infra red saunas. Lyme hates heat. There are portable ones as little as $200.

Also, you might want to change your name to something else. Words actually do matter. They can bring people whatever they're saying, thinking or fearing (the law of attraction). The book below is really good (no affiliation). Know you're going to get better and hang in there!

I was always told 200mg of doxy was too low

Is the 200mg acceptable because it is part of a cocktail of 3 drugs?

I am also on 200mg of doxy but it is combined with rifampin and tinidazole

As far as I know, the combinations look right. I'm impressed you can do antibiotics as well as the herbal protocol.

I think we all ask the same questions about lyme resistance, relapse, does it ever really go away, living daily with it, etc. etc.

Honestly, I think it's different for everyone, but your chances are better with a good LLMD I think.

One last thing... remember it's a marathon, not a sprint.

I hate that about this disease, but it's true....

The poster is on 200 mg of doxy twice per day for a total of 400 mg per day. That is the proper dosage.

I think your treatment looks fine.
