Hi friends. I'm starting to work in the core buhner protocol to my regime.
I've noticed that the Uncaria Rhynchophylla (cat's claw) powder doesn't mix AT ALL in water, but mixes perfectly in a tablespoon of oil, making it way faster and easier to take.
I'm wondering if anyone has heard any reason NOT to do this?

Of course, I could make my own tincture or capsules, but I'd much prefer the ease of taking the powder if possible.

Note: I'm supposed to take sesame and 'body bio' oil daily already, as part of a broader lipid therapy regime.

I have never taken cats claw in oil (i have always used capsules or tinctures) but theoretically, I can't see why not, especially as you can see that it mixes well with oil.

I suppose that you could experiment with putting some of the powder in capsules and taking two days of that followed by two days of the powder in the oil, to see if you notice any difference.

I thought Buhner used Uncaria tomentosa!

Mine was mixing in water, as long as I remember.

What are you using this type of Uncaria for?

Brussels, I am just starting Uncaria Rhynchophylla in addition to my regular cat's claw. In Buhner's latest book he feels the chinese cat's claw is very important for those with neurological lyme. You actually take more of it than Uncaria Tomtentosa in his neuro protocol.

Oh, great to know!!! Thank you.

Well then, I think it does not matter where this stuff is soluble in oil or water...

When people make teas, it's the water soluble contents that they take.

When people make tinctures, it's also the oily part that dissolves into alcohol and also the other components that dissolve in water (as alcohol dissolve oil).

At least, that is what I understood in the tincture-making business!

I would mix it with an oil that you are sure is as fresh as can be and has never been heated.
